Flem and Minnie had met in childhood and soon married in 1930. She loved her country music, her cowboy boots, singing and dancing. Minnie was the rock of the family providing three warm meals a day; she loved to cook and always had something going on the stove. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a vanilla ice cream cone on occasion. Minnie is survived by her loving sons; Charles Garren, Jerry Garren, Larry Garren, Uyless Garren and his wife Carla all of Hendersonville, and Dennis Garren and his wife Darlene of Etowah. Her daughters; Viola Garren Maphis of Florida, Dorothy Garren Stinnett and Wanda Poe and her husband Mike all of Tennessee, Glenda Cliff and her husband Larry, and Debra Moody of Hendersonville. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Jeane Goldsmith of Brevard and many nieces and nephews. Mary had twenty years of dedicated employment with UNISYS in Warren, New Jersey as an assembly worker. She was an avid bingo and casino player, liked to paint, do needle work and knitting, and loved bowling. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Paul Thompson, Sr. on July 1, 1991; a daughter, Gayle Thompson; a son, Dan Thompson; and many brothers and sisters. Mary is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Karan and Vilmos Hazy of Somerville and loving son, Richard P.
