Jimmy Wilson Gunter was buried at Sunset Cemetery, 501 South Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.4 He was born on October 23, 1938 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.3 He married Lois Carol Basham, daughter of Earl Stewart Basham and Eva Lois McNeil, on June 17, 1967 at Radford, Virginia.1,2 Jimmy Wilson Gunter died on April 26, 2021 at Virginia at age 82.4 He Jimmy Wilson Gunter, 82, of Christiansburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 26, 2021. He was retired from Federal Mogul with over 30 years of service. Jimmy was an avid sports fan, especially watching UVA football and basketball, and NASCAR, as well as sitting on the porch watching the wildlife around him. He also loved music, particularly Elvis and Motown, playing the guitar, and watching Andy Griffith, game shows and soap operas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nellie Gunter; one brother; and five sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Gunter; son, Jon (Kristin) Gunter; daughters, Melissa Gunter, Kristi (Steven) Osborne, and Julie (Jeff) Sink; stepson, Eric Burlingame; grandchildren, Camden, Carrington, Joshua, Jakob, and Adam; brothers, Paul Gunter, and Sonny (Lora) Gunter; sisters, Jeanetta (Frank) Reynolds, and Ollie Sue Morris; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the Faith Christian Church in Christiansburg. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Rhudy officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg. on April 28, 2021.4
