     Elmer Marion Lent Jr. was born on October 12, 1934 at Richmond, Virginia.2,4,3 He married Hilda Loving Gowen, daughter of Alice May Gowen, on September 9, 1960 at Chesterfield Co., Virginia.1 Elmer Marion Lent Jr. died on September 6, 2013 at Virginia at age 78.4,3 He Elmer Marion Lent Jr., 78, of Stewartsville, died Friday, September 6, 2013. He was born on October 12, 1934, in Richmond, to the late Elmer M. and Irene M. Lent. Elmer served in the Air Force as a jet mechanic based in Texas, and retired as a supervisor at DuPont in Richmond. He loved being outdoors; it was rare that he wasn't working in his yard tending to his flower gardens, hunting, or fishing. He greatly enjoyed traveling in and around the country with his family. Elmer was an active member of Bonsack Baptist Church and had participated in several mission trips to Mexico, Pennsylvania, Belize, and Louisiana for Hurricane Katrina clean-up. He greatly believed in family and helped organize father-son fishing trips. Surviving to cherish his memories are his wife of 53 years, Hilda G. Lent; three daughters and son-in-laws, Gail and Doug Bright, Allison and Jeff Enix, and Sarah and Davey Kerr Jr; grandchildren, Callie and JD Bright, Katie and Kevin Enix; a sister, Betty L. Smith , and four grand-dogs, Hunter, Boodie, Annabelle, and Herman. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Bonsack Baptist Church with the Rev. Scot Finley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the youth missions at Bonsack Baptist Church, 4845 Cloverdale Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. Arrangements by Oakey's Vinton Chapel. on September 13, 2013.3
