     Doris Magdalene Dunman was born on May 19, 1926 at Roanoke, Virginia.^4,2 As of March 28, 1948,her married name was Furrow.⁵ She married Carl Ralph Furrow, son of John Eldridge Furrow Sr. and Velira Gaines Walton, on March 28, 1948 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,5,2,3 Doris Magdalene Dunman died on November 10, 2017 at Virginia at age 91.³ She Doris Dunman Furrow, 91, of Salem, went to Heaven to be with Jesus on Friday, November 10, 2017. She was born in Roanoke, a daughter of the late William H. and Ella Orange Dunman and had been an area resident for most of her life. She graduated from National Business College and was employed at Norfolk Southern Railroad prior to retiring. Mrs. Furrow enjoyed outdoor gardening, landscaping, traveling to the beach and collecting antique dolls. She also had the distinction of earning her solo pilots license. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ralph Furrow; two brothers, William 'Bill' and Carl Dunman; and a sister, Ruth Johnson. She is survived by her daughters, Debra F. Whitt and husband, Charles, and Tina G. Collins and husband, Eddy. Also surviving is her brother, Danny C. Dunman; four grandchildren, Darrah McDermott, Lisa Crumley, Dana Grubbs, Carla McComas, their spouses, and 18 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. The Rev. Todd Stiffler will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. on November 11, 2017.³

She was a member of the Fairmont Baptist Church in Boones Mill. Surviving are her husband, Thomas G. Snead; one son, Alex Snead; two daughters, Stacy Snead, Emily Snead, all of the home; her father, McNeal Finney, Roanoke; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Debbie Finney, Roanoke; sister and brother-in-law, Tondra and Doug Blevins, Simpsonville, S.C; a nephew, Neal Finney; nieces, Michelle Finney, Nikki Blevins; several friends, Imma Lawless, Ruth Lawless, Davia Flora, Mary Lee Brubaker, Jerri Webster; "two very good Buddies", Sandy Webster, Diane Holt. Graveside services will be at the Fairmont Baptist Church Cemetery at Boones Mill. on January 27, 1990.¹
