She was married to the late David Andrew Spangler, who preceded her in death just nine days earlier on March 16, 2010. Mrs. Spangler was formerly employed with the Augusta County Correctional Center. She owned Windy Hollow German Shepherds. She was a member of the Goshen Baptist Church and a past member of the Buffalo Trail Riders. Born on August 25, 1922, at Mabscott, he was the son of the late Steve Savino and Mary Briguglio Savino. Mr. Savino was a retired shop foreman for Flowers Bakery. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII, serving on the USS Lexington. He enjoyed gardening and bowling. Mr. Savino was an avid West Virginia University football fan and also that of the Cincinnati Reds. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and attended Beckley College. He was a former member of the American Legion Post #32. Mr. Savino was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Annie Ford, Dolly Sampson, Joe, Chris, Charlie, and Dominick Savino. Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 64 years, Nellie "Kitty" Clark Savino; a son, Paul Savino of Shady Spring. Two grandchildren, Dallas Savino and wife Kendra, and Ashleigh Savino-Hatfield and husband Chadd, all of South Point, Ohio; five great grandchildren, Kami, Gianna, Kase, Daelyn, and Annaleese, along with three bonus great grandchildren, Drake, Ryker, and Scarlett. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. on July 22, 2018.4
