She is predeceased by her husband, Donald C. Murdock; a brother, Robert Radcliffe and a sister, Margaret Weatherby. Interment will be in First Baptist Church of Salem cemetery. on February 9, 2006.²

Bryson Gray, 81, of Lester, died Monday, July 26, 1993, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born March 15, 1912, in Wyoming County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Eva Allen Acord. Mrs. Gray was a homemaker and attended the First Church of God in Lester. She had lived in Lester since 1965 and lived in Maple Meadow for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gray, in 1982; a stepson, Dennis McMillan, in 1990, and 15 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Gray was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include a son, W.H. Bryson of Lester; a daughter, Barbara Acord of Bassett, Va; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Graveside rites and burial will be at the Calfee Cemetery, Mount Tabor. on July 27, 1993.³

     Bud Allen Jr. Bud Allen Jr. 66, departed this life Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Raleigh General Hospital, following a short illness. Born Feb 14, 1942, in Jesse, he was the son of the late Bud Allen Sr. and Felia Brinegar Allen. Bud was a retired coal miner, having worked for Kopperston No. 2 mines and Kopperston Tipple with over 30 years of service. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Allen; and two sons, Jeffery Allen and Christopher Allen. Those left to cherish his memory are two stepsons, Gary Allen and his wife, Deirdre Allen, of FL, and Larry Allen and his wife, Carolyn Allen, of Ripley; two brothers, Wannis Allen Sr. and his wife, Tarsa Allen, of Jesse and Arvil Allen of Virginia; two sisters, Barbara Allen-Kleber of Princeton and Virginia Mary Allen Bailey of Jesse; three grandchildren, Paula Allen, Kyle Allen and Jason Allen all of Jesse; step-grandchildren, Ben Harrison of FL, Mitchell Sharp, Canden Sharp and Sheldon Sharp all of Ripley; several nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
