Bertha is survived by her stepdaughters, Joanne (Garry) Manno, Debra (Mike) Gilliam, Billie (Steve) Dyal, Cindy (Ken) Hamman; special daughter, Sherry (Gary) Stebbins; siblings, Gunner and Kaj in Canada; siblings Inger, Tove, Reimer, Benny, Lau, Grethe, and Karen in Denmark; aunt, Lee Petersen of Toledo; cousin, Jack Petersen of Toledo; cousin, Harry Petersen of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and numerous family members throughout Denmark and Canada. Bertha was a faithful employee of Champion Spark Plug in Toledo for 28 years, until she retired in June of 1991. She was a member of the Champion Quarter Century and Retiree Club, in which she served multiple terms as President. She loved to entertain, offering an abundance of her delicious Danish cooking to all fortunate enough to sit at her table. She regularly hosted card games with her girlfriends and loved spending time with her family and many friends. on October 31, 2013.3

Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park. Dillon was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Martinsville to Annie Wyatt Hall Dillon and Harvel Trotter “H.T.” Dillon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis L. Dillon and Dwight L. Dillon Sr. He attended Martinsville High School and left early to enlist in the Navy. His tour of active duty included the D-Day Invasion of June 6, 1944. He was honorably discharged in April 1946, and he returned to Martinsville and completed high school. He then graduated from Virginia Southern Business School in Roanoke. As a member of the Navy Reserve, he was called back to duty and served on the USS Boxer during the Korean Conflict. After his second honorable discharge, he returned to Martinsville and went to work for Lester Industries. In 1967, Dillon teamed with Paul Dodson and Don Eanes to start a repair business known as The Electric Company. He retired from full-time employment in 1998. Surviving are several nieces, nephews and great nieces, and one great nephew. on September 24, 2010.2

In 1950 Dillon graduated from Martinsville High School; and in 1955 he graduated from Elon College. He was a member of the Advisory Board of Dominion Bank of Bassett, Va., and a member of the Bassett Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Bassett and he was a past lieutenant governor of the second division of the Capital District Kiwanis International. Entombment will be in the Bassett Mausoleum. Surviving: wife, Mrs. Roxann Bassett Dillon of the home; sons, Dwight Lynwood Dillon Jr. and Hiram Thomas Dillon, both of Collinsville, Va; daughter, Ruby Ann Dillon, a student at Averett College in Danville, Va; brothers, Aubrey H. Dillon and Curtis L. Dillon both of Martinsville, Va; two grandchildren. on March 16, 1989.7
