A brother and a sister also preceded her in death. Ruby was a lifelong homemaker and was a member of Turner Memorial Baptist Church. Ruby leaves five loving and devoted children to cherish her memory, four sons, Grover Waldron of Salem, John Waldron and Monroe Waldron both of Roanoke and Mark Waldron of Vinton; and her daughter, Joyce Waldron Dent of Newport News. Also surviving are seven loving grandchildren, Melinda Whitaker, Stephanie Dorsett, Alisha Waldron, Dewayne Waldron, Norman Waldron, Kenneth Dent, and Melissa Dent; and eight great-grandchildren. A service celebrating Ruby's life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at the Roanoke Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Carter Sloan. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Ruby's family will receive friends Monday, September 26, 2005 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Roanoke Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, SW, on September 26, 2005.2

Marie Vaught, of Blacksburg; his parents, Linda S. and Arwood Vaught, of Blacksburg; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon V. and David O'Donnell, of Dublin; sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Terry Lawrence, of Christiansburg; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mitchell and Pat Vaught, of Radford, Rickey and Ann Vaught, of Blacksburg; mother-in-law, Annie Linkous, of Blacksburg; sisters-in-law, Karen Lovern and husband, Quinton, of Blacksburg, Diane Cole and husband, David, of Floyd; brother-in-law, Charles Linkous and wife, Sheri, of Christiansburg; several special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 30, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmie Lee Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. on July 29, 2004.5

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Sheppard. Those left to cherish her memory is her faithful companion, Charlie Keffer; daughters and son-in-laws, Ellen and Timothy Scott and Dreama and Ricky Price; grandchildren, Shane Scott, Jennifer Medley and husband Chris, and Justin Webb; step grandsons, Mark and Luke Price, and a great grandson, Jason Medley. When God created mothers he blessed us with her, Proverbs 31:28: "Her children shall arise and call her blessed". A special thank you to the staff at Heritage Hall who gave her such special care. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. on Monday February 26, 2018 at DeVilbiss Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service following at 2 p.m. with Minister David Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Garden in Christiansburg. on February 25, 2018.3
