He passed away at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson, Nebraska, on April 1, 1985, at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 6 days. He had been a resident of this Center for nearly 2 years. Ralph was born in a sod house on his parents homestead near Vernon, Colorado. They came by covered wagon to Nuckolls County, Nebraska, in 1896 where he lived the remaining years of his life. He was educated in the rural schools of Nuckolls County. Ralph was united in marriage to Gladys Mae Wilson on June 17, 1914, at Nelson, Nebraska. Four children were born to bless this home. Ralph and Gladys farmed for many years in the Nelson. When they retired from farming in 1959 they bought their present home and moved into Nelson. On March 13, 1938, Ralph was baptised into Christian faith at the Christian Church in Nelson by the Reverand John M. Foust. At the time of his passing he had been a member of the Christian Church for 47 years and had served as Deacon for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant daughter, Lorene (sic) Marie; four brothers, Austin, Virgil, Roy and Carson; and four sisters, one infant sister Wauneta, Pearl Marshall, Aletha Gharring and Delia Daly. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Gladys Morehead of Nelson; a son William Joe Morehead and his wife Eilene of Nelson; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (LaVon) Larison and husband of Nelson, and Mrs. John (Roberta) Stone and husband of Nelson; one grandson, William Joe Morehead, Jr. of Nelson; four granddaughters, Cindy Troudt of Lawrence, Nebraska, Mrs. Patti Kramp of Bostwick, Nebraska, Melanie Larison of Nelson, and Mrs. Trudy Jones of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and five great-grandchildren, Vickie Morehead of Nelson, Casey and Cassy Troudt of Lawrence, Jessie and Jordan Kramp of Bostwick. Casketbearers were Henry Wehrman, Jr., Ted Madson, Elbert Farver, Elmer Williams, Walster Williams and Lynn Thayer. Honorary Pallbearers were Charlie Holms, Clifford Adamson, Marvin Thurber, Joe Ferebee, Marvin Oltmans, Louis Keim and Garth Melvin. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery near Nelson, Nebraska. on April 11, 1985.5

He passed away Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 22 days. Bill lived his entire life in the Nelson area. December 8, 1944, he married Eilene Klingenberger in Mankato, Kansas. This union was blessed with two children, William Jo, Jr. (Bud) and Trudy. He had a love for life, farming, the land, horses and family, but most of all he had an enduring love and passion for Eilene, his wife of 56 years. It had been said of Bill, "He rode some good horses and had lots of good friends, and he deserved them all." Preceding him in death were his parents, Ralph and Gladys Morehead, and two sisters, an infant and LaVon Larison and her husband Chuck. Survivors include his wife, Eilene Morehead of Nelson; one son, William, Jr. (Bud) Morehead and his wife Bonnie of Nelson; one daughter, Trudy Henderson and her husband John M. III of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his cherished granddaughter, Vicki Morehead of Nelson; two step granddaughters, Wendy and Christy Henderson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and one sister, Roberta Stone and her husband John of Nelson. Interment was in Nelson Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Statz, Kenneth Aksamit, Casey Troudt, Terry Madson, Harold Pedersen, Jack Klingenberger, Coke Troudt and Harold Kramp. on March 29, 2001.2

She passed away on February 17, 2012 at the Superior Good Samaritan Society, Superior, Nebraska at the age of 83 years. Eilene attended Superior schools. She was a member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ. She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Morehead on December 8, 1944 at Mankato, Kansas and to this union two children were born. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, sewing, and fixing things for others, which was a talent she received from her father. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband March 24, 2001; infant brother, and brother Ivan Klingenberger and wife Donna and sister Marie Trueblood; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Roberta and John Stone; brothers-in-law Lavon Larison and Chuck Larison. She is survived by her son William Jr., "Bud" Morehead of Nelson, Nebraska and daughter Trudy Henderson and husband John M. III of Albuquerque, New Mexico; granddaughter Vicki Sue Morehead and two step granddaughters Christy Henderson of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Wendy Moynihan and husband Brad of Dallas, Texas; and two step great granddaughters Kaitlynn Handerson and Annabelle Grace Moynihan; and sister Roberta Carlson of Superior, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 19, 2012 from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson with Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry officiating. Music was "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "How Great Thou Art" with Carlita Erickson as organist and Ruth Watts as soloist. Pallbearers were Harold Pedersen, Terry Pedersen, Paul Bencken, Bob Bencken, Terry Madson and Paul Statz. Honorary Pallbearers were Ted Madson, Darrell McCartney, Pete Farver, Homer Wehrman, Henry Wehrman, Vic Pedersen, Arnold Kimminau, Vern Kimminau, Coke Troudt and Harold Kramp. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to go to the Superior Good Samaritan Society or the Nelson United Community Church of Christ. on February 3, 2012.1 She died on February 17, 2012 at Superior, Nuckolls Co., Nebraska, at age 83.1,3

Bud passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Southlake Village in Lincoln at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 3 days. Bud was a graduate of Nelson High School. He enjoyed deer hunting, horseback riding, fishing, classic cars, sport shooting and trivia. He loved the country life and was proud to be a redneck. He was very proud of his daughter Vicki and enjoyed spending time with her. Bud never met a stranger and will always be remembered for his kind and compassionate ways towards others. Bud was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Eilene Morehead. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Vicki Morehead of Lincoln; and sister, Trudy Henderson and her husband John Henderson III of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Nov. 27, 1946, she was united in marriage to Charles Robert Larison in Concordia, Kan. This union was blessed with three children. Mrs. Larison was a 50-year member of the First Christian Church, a member of Ladies' Aid and the VFW Auxiliary. She had been employed as a telephone operator, a nurses' aide at the Good Samaritan Center and a cook at the Nelson schools. Preceding her in death were her parents and an infant sister, Lorine Marie Morehead. Survivors are her husband, Charles (Chuck); four daughters, Mrs. Phil Barto (Maralee) of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Carroll (Coke) Troudt (Cindy) of Lawrence, Mrs. Harold Kramp (Pattie) of Superior and Mrs. Alan Wilton (Melanie) of Nelson; a brother, Bill Morehead, Nelson; a sister, Mrs. John Stone (Roberta), Nelson; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives. The Rev. Norman F. Brooks officiated at the services and burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. on October 27, 1988.1

She loved her family, here nieces and nephews and her pet dogs and cats. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John on August 28, 2007; brother, William Bill Moorehead, infant sister Lorene Marie and sister Lavon Larison. She is survived by nephews and nieces, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, December 21, 2009 from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry officiating. Pallbearers were Casey Troudt, Eric Grassman, Johnny Himmelberg, Steve Rust, Jordon Kramp and Carson Rowley. Honorary pallbearers were Bud Wehrman, Mike Drexel, Ron Fryda, Ken Himmelberg, Larry Thornsberry and Don McCartney. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska. On Nov. 9, 1933, she married Bernard David Wilson in Colorado Springs, Colo. The couple farmed in Colorado for several years, and Mr. Wilson spent the war years in defense construction. In 1948 the Wilsons moved to Casper where Mr. Wilson became manager of Pepper Tank and Contracting and Mrs. Wilson worked as the company bookkeeper, as well as bookkeeper of the Casper Commissary for 25 years. Mrs. Wilson then was employed by Leo A. Riley, CPA, as claims auditor of the Plumbers and Pipefitters local No. 93 for 14 years, retiring earlier this year because of ill health. She was a lifelong member of the Disciples of Christ and joined Casper's First Christian Church in 1954. She was an avid reader and enjoyed original ceramic and culinary works. Survivors include a daughter, Vanita of the family home; a son, Arlen and grandchildren Marc and Andrea Wilson, all of Ottawa, Canada; a brother, John Skipton of Englewood, Colo; and three sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Nixon of Boise, Idaho, Mrs. Joyce Lucore of Grand Junction, Colo., and Mrs. Ethel Jean Hoffman of Littleton, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971. on December 21, 1988.2

Donna is survived by: her son, Steve Anderson (Marlene), of Anchorage, AK; her daughter, Donna Anderson, of Portland, OR; grandchildren: Anita Erickson, Lynnette Mitchell, Gayla Prow, Nathan Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Hans Anderson, Erica DePosit and Evan DePosit; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by: her husband, Kenneth Anderson; her son, Jim Anderson; daughter-in-law, Jann Anderson; her sister, Velma Palmer; brother, Wilson Basey, and great-grandson, Tucker Prow.
