     William Donald "Donnie" Craighead Sr. William D. Craighead, Sr. of Falling Waters, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Jan. 30, 1935, in Fayette, he was the son of the late Thomas "Ted" and Virginia (Shank) Craighead. He was a retired member of Steam-Fitters Local 486 and played music locally for 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Alona F. (Hawthorne) Craighead; sons, William D. Craighead II, of Martinsburg and Joey D. Craighead, of Hedgesville; daughters, Billie Crawford, of Falling Waters, Doneen Johnson, of Williamsport, Md., Diana Keyser, of Clear Spring, Md., and Donna Hinson, of Wilmington, N.C; sister, Betty Pemberton, of Beckley; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three faithful canine companions, Roxie, Bernie and Bently.³ His Social Security Number was 236-50-2514.⁸ He married Ruby Pike.      Betty May Craighead Betty May Craighead Pemberton born May 15, 1931, the only daughter to Thomas (Handsome) and Virginia Shanks Craighead passed away on April 3, 2019. Betty was proceeded in death by her husband John (Pete) Pemberton, her twin Brother George, and brothers Thomas and Donnie Craighead. Betty also lost her only daughter, Thelma (Lou) Showalter, her son, Billy Pemberton along with a granddaughter, a great grandchild and one great-great grandchild. Left to carry on her memory and love for life are her oldest son, Richard (Peewee) and wife Frances (Sissy) Pemberton of Lochgelly, WV, Willie and wife Rita Pemberton of Louisville, KY and John (Rick) and wife Debbie Pemberton of Oak Hill, WV. 11 Loving Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren along with all their friends and extended family that also considered her their “Granny Betty”. The family wants to thank her adopted family at Mary’s Garden for the loving care they extended to her the last couple of years. Betty always loved and enjoyed her life. She loved a good sale, a trip to anywhere, a banana split, sneaking a cigarette, a little gambling, but most of all she loved her family and all her babies (no matter how old they were)! She attended church with her granddaughter at Fellowship Memorial Baptist. Richard W. Hudnall, 78, of Troutville, Va., passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lena Hudnall; a nephew, Mark Long; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Richard graduated from Lord Botetourt High School in 1964 and joined the National Guard. After serving in the National Guard, he returned home to his parent's farm and helped them run the farm and worked with his dad as a brick mason. Richard was a kind and giving person, always helping his sisters, parents, neighbors, and friends any way he could. After his parents passed away, he continued to keep the farm going and laid brick. Richard had the heart of a farmer. He farmed all of his life and he was proud of the farm and his brick jobs. He kept the land for his cows so they would have enough to eat in case there was a drought. The cows came before anyone. He was a farmer. It was his living. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Susan Hudnall; three sisters, Georgianna Long, Dot Divers (Barry), and Marie Murray (Paul); four nieces; three nephews; numerous great-nieces; great-nephews; a cousin, Toby McCoy; second cousins; and other relatives. A private graveside service was held for Richard with Military Honors at Evergreen Cemetery. on June 26, 2022.³
