     Thelma Donnelly was buried at Jacksonville Burial Ground, Rt. 8, 0.25 miles south of Floyd, Floyd Co., Virginia.1 She was born on October 8, 1912 at Willis, Floyd Co., Virginia.2,1 As of circa 1937,her married name was Lee.3 She married James Garfield Lee, son of Robert Edward Lee and Susan Adeline "Susen" Rakes, circa 1937.1,3 Thelma Donnelly died on September 25, 2011 at Jonesborough, Washington Co., Tennessee, at age 98.1,4,2 She Thelma Donnelly Lee, 98, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 25, 2011. A native of Willis, Va., she lived most of her life in Floyd, Va., and moved to Tennessee after retirement. Her occupations include serving as secretary of Floyd High School and being owner/operator of a beauty salon and a florist shop. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Garfield Lee; four brothers; and one sister. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Lee Hitchcock and husband, Charles, of Jonesborough; four grandchildren, Susanne Pemberton and husband, Jamie, of Lancing, Tenn., Stephanie Townsend and husband, Taylor, of Spruce Pine, N.C., Joanna Capps and husband, Chad, of Johnson City, and David Hitchcock, of Falls Church, Va; five grandchildren, Tristi Townsend, Tanner Townsend, Luke Capps, Jayden Pemberton, and Jordyn Pemberton; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, Tenn., on Friday, September 30, 2011, from 6 to 7 p.m. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Kim Goddard officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at Jacksonville Cemetery in Floyd, Va., with the Rev. Rhonda Hobbs officiating. The family wishes to extend very special thanks to the dedicated staff of Caris Healthcare, especially to Angela Williams, Linda Byrd, and Jennifer Farner for their genuine expressions of love and care. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Mafair United Methodist Church, 1409 East Center Street, Kingsport, TN 37664. Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, Tenn., is serving the family of Thelma Lee. on September 30, 2011.1
