     Franklin Bernard Rule Franklin Bernard Rule, age 89, of Olney, Illinois, passed away at 12:32 PM - Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Meadow Brook Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Grayville, Illinois. Frank was born on October 8, 1934, at his home in rural Noble, Illinois, the son of James Elmer and Claris (Spray) Rule. He married Margaret Ely on December 17, 1966, and she survives. Frank proudly served his country, 4 years in the United States Army and then 12 years in the United States Air Force. Frank attended the First Christian Church in Noble, Illinois, and was a member of the American Legion Post #4226 and the VFW. Frank was a contractor doing mainly remodels and loved woodworking, especially making furniture. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret Rule of Olney, Illinois; Son Franklin Hubert Rule of Olney, Illinois; Stepson Bill Taylor of Evansville, Indiana; Stepdaughter Debra McGowan of Olney, Illinois; Sister Mary Alice McVay of Olney, Illinois; 9 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, stepson Robert Taylor, brothers Harold Rule, Jim Rule, Bill Burns, Bob Burns, sisters Marie Kirby and Margaret Rule.¹ He was born on October 8, 1934 at Noble, Richland Co., Illinois.¹ He married Eldona J. Jones, daughter of Hubert Jones and Florence E. Bickford, in October, 1957 at Richland Co., Illinois.² Franklin Bernard Rule died on September 21, 2024 at Grayville, Illinois, at age 89.¹
