He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rouzerville, Pa. He was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 of Waynesboro, and AARP. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn C. Cordell Dewease, whom he married Oct. 3, 1953; one daughter, Tina Marie Chamberlin of Waynesboro; three sons, Stuart A. Dewease Jr. and Kirk D. Dewease, both of Waynesboro, and Lance E. Dewease of Fayetteville, Pa; two sisters, JoAnn Caron of Burlington, N.C., and Janet Stone of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister and six brothers. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery near Rouzerville. on April 28, 2007.4

Dewease, 59, of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and formerly of Williamsport, Md., passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016, at his home. He was born on May 31, 1956, in Hagerstown, Md., to the late H. Lance and Vivian M. Norris Dewease. He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Nancy Arlene Hanks Dewease, on Nov. 15, 2003. Wayne was a 1975 graduate of Williamsport High School. He was active in both football and baseball, leading Williamsport High School to the 1975 state baseball championship. He also attended Hagerstown Junior College. He was employed by Maryland Correctional Institute in Hagerstown, until retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Williamsport, Md. He was a member of Conococheague Tribe 84 Improved Order of Red Men, Williamsport; and was a past member of the Williamsport Rider’s Club. Wayne was a huge fan of the Baltimore Orioles, and a fan and proud shareholder of the Green Bay Packers. He loved to travel, including Ocean City, Md., Kent Narrows, Md., Las Vegas, Mexico, the Caribbean and Florida. He is survived by his wife, Bette Leatherman Dewease, whom he married Sept. 26, 2013; stepdaughter, Jennifer M. Hess and her husband, Matthew D. Ruckle, of Martinsburg, W.Va; sister and brothers-in-law, Nancy J. Smith of Tilghmanton, Md., M. Jane Sirbaugh, Elvin W. Brining of Sharpsburg, Md., Betty and Allen G. Leatherman Jr. of Tilghmanton, and Sharon and Donald Coulter of Hagerstown; and many nieces and nephews, including Dwayne Coulter and family of Keedysville, Md., Scott Coulter and family of Hagerstown, Robbie Huntzberry of Tilghmanton, Joseph Nave and family of Tilghmanton, Barbara Warrenfeltz and family of Tilghmanton, and William “Bill” Smith of Tilghmanton. He is also survived by very good friends Shannon and Laura Showe of Conway, S.C., G. Timothy Shaw of Martinsburg, Kathy and Rick Larrick of Martinsburg, Steve and Nancy Waitkus of Sebring, Fla., Randy Duke and Michele Davis of Martinsburg, Michele Blanco of Sandy Hook, Conn., Donnie and Christy Hughes of Hedgesville, W.Va., Ronnie and Robin Brown of Williamsport, and Tim Fraker of Hagerstown; staff and physicians of Martinsburg Radiology Associates; and his faithful and beloved cat, “Vegas,” who remained by his side until the end. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Rodney L. Leatherman; niece, Donna M. Huntzberry; nephew, Michael W. Smith; and two very good friends, Vickie L. Nisewarner and F. Calvin Leatherman. The family and friends would like to give many thanks to the physicians and staff of the following medical organizations: Dr. David Didden, Berkeley Medical Center Radiation and Oncology Units, Hospice of the Eastern Panhandle, Panhandle Home Health, Emily Couric Cancer Center and the University of Virginia Hospital. on May 17, 2016.3

Garry R. Cordell Garry R. Cordell, 72, of Greencastle, PA, passed away June 30, 2023, at his home. Born May 14, 1951, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late J. Edward Cordell, III, and Katherine (Dewease) Cordell. He graduated from Greencastle Antrim High School with the class of 1970. He married the love of his life, Joyce M. (Mentzer) Cordell in 1973. His working career included Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro, various construction companies, Antrim Builders Supply, and he retired in 2014 from the Borough of Greencastle, Wastewater Dept. He was a member of Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro, PA, and Greencastle Sportsman's Association. Garry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and just being outdoors. He paid witness to all of God's beautiful creation through his photography as well as his drawings. He was a dedicated father who enjoyed coaching his kids sports teams when they were younger. He adored his grandchildren and cherished time spent with family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Bradley A. Cordell and his wife, Aindrea, Greencastle, Andrew D. Cordell and his wife, Amanda, Waynesboro, and Nickolas R. Cordell, Greencastle; two grandchildren, Alan and Bexley Cordell and two step grandchildren, Zach and Kaelin Fouty; five brothers: John Cordell, Steve Cordell, Tim Cordell, Dan Cordell, and James Cordell, all of Greencastle; one sister, Bonnie Yoder, also of Greencastle, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Larry Cordell, who passed away September 4, 2013. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA.3 He was buried at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, Franklin Co., Pennsylvania.3 He was born on May 14, 1951 at Waynesboro, Franklin Co., Pennsylvania.3 He married Joyce Ann Mentzer in 1973.3 Garry R.
