She had been in failing health and had undergone surgery three times in the past year. Mrs. Dewease was admitted to the Waynesboro Hospital last Thursday after suffering a stroke and transferred to Hagerstown Hospital yesterday. She was born at Waynesboro R.D. 1, Sept. 10, 1926, daughter of the late Maurice and Emma Fitz Marshall. Her early life was lived in Quincy Township. Mr. and Mrs. Dewease made their home at Fairfield following their marriage . After Mr. Dewease's death in April, 1957, she and her family lived at Pen Mar before coming to Waynesboro two years ago. For the past three years, Mrs. Dewease was employed in the Waynesboro Hospital laundry. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church , Rouzerville. Mrs. Dewease is survived by four daughters; Mrs. Paul Biddle, Hornell, N. Y., Mrs. Paul R. Burtman Jr., Waynesboro, Miss Patricia Dewease and Miss Diana Kay Dewease, both at home. Also surviving are four grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Clayton Chamberlin, Waynesboro R D 1, and a brother, Junior Marshall, Quincy. Burial will be made in Mt. She is survived by sons, James E. Maxey of Rocky Mount, Harry E. Sebra of Catawba, Roger L. Sebra of Elliston, and Marcell D. Maxey and wife, Tammy of Catawba; daughters, Phyllis J. Cox of Sterling, and Ramona L. Broughman of Elliston; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.. on February 7, 2007.⁴

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Maxey; parents, Tolbert and Oma Rock; sisters, Freda Via and Barbara Francisco; and brother, Don Rock. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Vicky Maxey; daughter, Pat Meador and Mikel Elliott; grandchildren, Derek and Amy Maxey, Darrell and Brandy Maxey, Bill and Tasha Daugherty, and Amy Daugherty; great-grandchildren, Cammy and Sarah Daugherty, Austin Daugherty, Zane Williams, Willie and Emily Daugherty, and Cameron and Chloe Maxey; sisters, Mildred Via, Jean Crockett and Linda Mollette; brother, Lewis Rock; and special friends, Candy Long, Tammy Hylton and Tonya Crockett. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on June 26, 2008.²

     William Norman "Bill" Meador was born on August 2, 1943 at Bedford Co., Virginia.^3,4 He married Patricia Jean "Pat" Maxey, daughter of Albert Levi Maxey and Mary Frances Rock, on December 23, 2000 at Bedford Co., Virginia.^1,2 William Norman "Bill" Meador and Patricia Jean "Pat" Maxey were divorced on February 20, 2007 at Bedford Co., Virginia.⁵ William Norman "Bill" Meador died on December 2, 2014 at Virginia at age 71.⁴ He Mr. William Norman Meador, 71, of Moneta, VA died Tuesday, December 2nd at 2:50 a.m. He was born August 2, 1943 in Radford, VA to the late Florence Elizabeth Webb Meador and Frank Board Meador, Sr. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Board Meador, Jr. of Prince Frederick, MD and Roanoke, VA and 12 aunts and uncles. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Meador Lijoi and her husband, Joseph Aldo Lijoi, and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Kaitlyn Werner and Lauren Victoria Werner, all of Cornelius, NC. Mr. Meador is also survived by his niece, Anne Mercier Meador of Arlington, VA , his nephew, Frank Board Meador, III and his wife, Melissa Meffort Meador of Chesapeake, VA, his aunt, Gladys Meador Hoover of Moneta, VA, his great-niece Caroline Elizabeth Meador, and his great-nephew James Christian Meador of Chesapeake, VA, and many cousins who loved him. Mr. Meador graduated from National Business College in Martinsville, VA with a degree in Accounting, and he attended Milligan College and Patrick Henry Community College. He served briefly in the Navy and sang in its official chorus, the Blue Jays. He worked for the Mayflower Moving Company in Blacksburg, VA for 20 years until retiring to Moneta, VA in 2002. Many of his favorite times were spent in fellowship with his friends at the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge. on December 10, 2014.⁴
