     Omey Anderson Omey Anderson, 71, of near Windfall, died at 11:05 p.m. Sunday in Mercy hospital, Elwood, of heart complications. He had been ill for about six weeks. Rev. Chester Mitchell will conduct funeral services in the Pritchard Funeral home, Windfall, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with interment in Brookside cemetery, Windfall. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. Born Jan. 6, 1886 in Tipton county, the deceased man was the son of William T. and Lavena (Poole) Anderson. He was a farmer all of his life. His first wife, the former Miss Katherine Trout, died in 1923 and, in 1925, he married the former Vina Dinkins. She died in 1955. Surviving are two children, Paul Anderson, of Greentown, and Jennie Anderson, of Windfall; two stepchildren, including Nathan Gaunt, of Gas City, and Icelina Gaunt, of Elwood; a sister, Mrs. Electa Osborn, of Windfall; two brothers, James Anderson, of Indianapolis, and Thomas Anderson, of California; and three grandchildren.⁴ He was buried at Brookside Cemetery, Windfall Township, Tipton Co., Indiana.^1,4,2 He was born on January 6, 1886 at Tipton Township, Tipton Co., Indiana.^4,2,3 He married Vina Bonnie Dinkins, daughter of Thomas Dinkins and Nancy Jane Hill, on January 28, 1929 at Indiana.^1,4,5,3 Omey Anderson died on July 7, 1957 at Elwood, Madison Co., Indiana, at age 71.^4,2

He is also survived by a son, David W. Carter, Jr., Noblesville; a brother, James Day, Indianapolis; and a sister, Ramona Brooks, Florida. Calling will be 5-8 p.m. Friday in McMullan Funeral Home at Westfield. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Heavilin will officiate. Burial will be in Summit Lawn Cemetery at Westfield. on January 17, 2002.⁴

She was born Sept. 27, 1953, in Tipton, the daughter of Floyd E. and Evelyn Nance Southard. Her mother survives. She had attended Hamilton Heights High School. She and David Wayne Carter were married in 1971. He died Jan. 16, 2002. Mrs. Carter was a member of Hortonville Friends Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, David W. Carter Jr., Noblesville; a brother, Dennis E. Southard, Sheridan; a sister, Leisa M. Hale (Kevin), Sheridan; a nephew, Colby Hale (Mandy), Sheridan; a niece, Tiffany Hale, Indianapolis; and a great-nephew, Kaleb David Hale. Services were Jan. 25 at Kercheval Funeral Home, Sheridan, the Revs. Marilynn Bell and Frances Kinsey officiating. Burial was in Crown View Cemetery, Sheridan. on January 27, 2011.³

She died peacefully May 26, 2010 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. Born July 29, 1927 in Los Angeles to Elsie Belle Mallory, Imogene lived her childhood in the Imperial Valley. In 1951 she went to work for Pacific Telephone Company as a telephone operator. She educated herself to later become one of their first female engineers. Mrs. Martinez helped to design what is now the AT&T Universal Plan over 30 years ago. In 1958 she married Roy Vincent Martinez, a career sailor with the Navy. They lived in San Francisco, Yuma, Nev., Norfolk, Va., and Fallen, Nev. After Marty's retirement in 1968 they settled in Ceres and built their home which Genie continued to live in for another 27 years after Marty's passing in 1982. Imogene enjoyed gardening and being involved in the Telephone Pioneers Club. Remembrances may be sent to the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson. on June 2, 2010.²
