She also was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Kenny Dowell. She graduated from Brazil High School in the Class of 1947. She was a member of Bridgeton Baptist Church, and enjoyed doing yard work, mushroom hunting and crafts. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in French Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday prior to services in the funeral home. on July 8, 2004.2

He was born Dec. 12, 1915, in Parke County, as the son of Oscar and Vallie Mitchell Summers. He left school to begin working in the family coal business. Howard married Frances Mercer on Feb. 24, 1940, in Brazil. Together, they farmed and raised Shorthorn cattle in Clay and Parke counties until he was 92. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances Marie Summers, June 25, 2008; and sisters, Opal Ellis and Ethel Green. He is survived by three sons, Eugene Summers (Brenda) of Reelsville, David Summers (Kanene) of Lebanon, and Don Summers of Brazil; grandchildren, Kara Donner of Lebanon, Laura Minor (Jesse) of Reelsville, Kyle Summers (Carrie) of Noblesville, Gena Brock (Adam) of Otterbein, Justin Summers of Lebanon, and Jason Summers and Kelsie Chilton (Shawn), all of Brazil; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Marjorie Adamson (Fred) of Brazil; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Moore Funeral Home. 142 N. Washington St., in Brazil. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday with Pastors Bob Kumpf and Myron James officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Lena United Methodist Church, 10932 S. Elizabeth also had five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Elizabeth was born in Salisbury, North Carolina on June 2, 1920. She and her family moved to Brandon from Bluefield, West Virginia in 1956. She earned her Bachelor's Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Tampa in 1960, and her Master's Degree from the University of South Florida in 1966. Elizabeth began her 31 year Education career as a teacher at Mango Elementary School and later became an Area Resource Teacher. Subsequently, she became the Supervisor of Elementary Placement for the Hillsborough County School System. She remained in this position until she retired in 1990. Elizabeth was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Brandon. Among her many interests, she was an accomplished Bridge player, quilter and line dancer. She was always surrounded by her loving friends and countless others that loved and adored her. She was truly loved by everyone she touched. The family would like to thank Life Path Hospice and Right at Home, Plant City for all of their love, support and compassion. Our family would like to thank all of Elizabeth's friends and loved ones that spent countless hours bringing food, helping out, and being there to give moral support. You have touched our hearts in so many ways. Our mother will now rest in peace with her beloved husband Ward. on November 8, 2013.4

Fred Wilton Miles was buried at Monte Vista Park Cemetery, Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia.4 He was born on February 14, 1941 at Marion, Smyth Co., Virginia.3,4 He died on March 24, 1949 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 8.4,5 He Eight-year-old Fred Wilton Miles, riding a bicycle, was fatally injured last night about 6:15 o'clock when he was struck by an automobile driven by his father, Ward P. Miles of 322 Mountain View Avenue. The tragic ending to a pleasant afternoon of bicycle riding occurred at the intersection of Mountain View avenue and Gilmer street, only a short distance from the Mile's home. The child, police said, was coasting downhill on Gilmer street and turning onto Mountain View avenue. His father's car approaching him going downhill on Mountain View Avenue skidded, after hitting him, Fred was brought to the Saint Luke's Hospital by his father immediately after the accident. He died of a head injury about 15 minutes after admission to the hospital. Fred was born on February 14, 1941. He was a second grade student at the Memorial school and attended Mrs. Roy Thompson's Sunday school at the Bland Street Methodist church. Surviving Fred are his mother and father, his five-year-old brother, James, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Bostian of Bluefield and Mrs. J. H. Miles of Kimball. on March 25, 1949.5
