Mary Ladona Shelor Mary Shelor Holloway, 91, of Roanoke, passed away on August 31, 2021. She was born in Virginia on February 23, 1930 to the late Albert R. Shelor, Sr. and the late Dorothy Duncan Shelor. Mary was also preceded in death by her brothers, Albert R. Shelor, Jr and Billy O. Shelor. Mary is survived by her children, Carol Stuart (Robert), Ron Milliron (Jane) and Barbie Brown (Willie); eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and brother, Leo T. Shelor. Mary was a devout Christian. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She retired from the Brides House and Formals as manager of Alterations at age 87. Entombment to follow the service at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.1 She was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.1 She was born on February 23, 1930 at Floyd Co., Virginia.4,1,3 As of March 22, 1986,her married name was Holloway.4 She married Ralph Wayne Holloway, son of Charles William Holloway and Dora Virginia Conner, on March 22, 1986 at Roanoke, Virginia.4 Mary Ladona Shelor and Ralph Wayne Holloway were divorced on October 25, 2007 at Roanoke, Virginia.2 Mary Ladona Shelor died on August 31, 2021 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 91.1

Jill Frances Chisom Jill Chisom Spencer, 59, of Salem, Virginia passed away peacefully on Monday, June 7, 2021 after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Coleman Chisom and Barbara Scott Chisom of Salem; as well as her brother, Timothy Coleman Chisom. Jill is survived by her loving husband, James Randal Spencer; daughter, Anne Claire Conner (and her father John Christopher Conner) of Salem; her beloved twin brother James L. Chisom (Katherine) of Salem; sister-in-law Loretta Prillaman of Roanoke; nephews William Logan Chisom of Richmond, James Coleman Chisom of San Francisco and John Grayson Burks Chisom of Charlottesville; special cousin and "third twin", Karen Hopkins St. John of Roanoke; as well as numerous other relatives and cherished friends. Jill was a highly skilled and dedicated Administrative Assistant. She began her career in the Executive Office of APCO in Roanoke, working for the Executive Vice President and later the President. She also worked for the Law Office of Flippin Densmore. Most recently, Jill worked in support of the Chief Operating Officer of Marsh McLennan Mid-Atlantic. She loved her Marsh family and was proud to work there. Jill was a beautiful person, both inside and out. She was witty, engaging, loved gardening and animals, and was fiercely loyal to her family and friends. Jill was a gifted pianist and beautiful singer. Twelve years of piano lessons also made her an incredible typist. A 1980 honors graduate of Salem High School, Jill won the DECA State Title for words per minute typing and shorthand. Those skills and her personality made her a sought-after employee, and executives would lobby for her to support them. A graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to Dr. Amanda Gillespie-Twardy and the wonderful staff at the Blue Ridge Cancer Center as well as the staff at Carilion Hospice for their compassionate care.3 She was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.3 She was born on December 18, 1961 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2 As of May 10, 1986,her married name was Conner.1 She married John Christopher "Chris" Conner, son of Michael Allen Conner and Gayle Calvin Garrison, on May 10, 1986 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.1,3 Jill Frances Chisom and John Christopher "Chris" Conner were divorced on April 1, 2004 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.4 Jill Frances Chisom died on June 7, 2021 at Virginia at age 59.3

Steven Ashuer Webb Mr. Steven Ashuer "Smoke" Webb, age 57, of Covington, died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke surrounded by his family. Mr. Webb was born October 5, 1959 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Winfred L. Webb and Roberta Walton Webb. Steven was reared in Bath County and attended Bath County public schools. Upon graduating from high school, he went to Fishersville Welding School where he received a welding certificate. During his working career, he had been employed by the former Lear Corporation, Pals Inc. and various other construction companies. Mr. Webb attended Iron Gate Community Church and Church of God of Prophecy. He was a longtime supporter of St. Joseph's Indian School. Steven loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. Mr. Webb is survived by his beloved dog, Chato and his cats; his brothers, Lynwood "Avery" Webb and Maggie of Roanoke and Dean Webb of Covington as well as Bert Webb of Iron Gate whom he thought of as a brother; his sisters, Tammy Puffenbarger of North Carolina and Rhonda Mayberry and Jerry of Covington; his uncle, Woody Webb and aunt, Janice Webb of Hot Springs; several aunts including, Janet Craft, of Covington; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; his friends, Ryan and Shyan Forbes and children, Floyd Smith and Janice, Chuckie Tingler, Steve Pleasant, Gary Goode with whom he enjoyed watching NASCAR together on Sundays. In addition to his parents, Mr. Webb was preceded in death by a sister, Joy Phillips, in 2016; his niece, Stacy Webb Hartless; his paternal grandparents, Roscoe Stevenson Webb and Violet Webb Smith; his maternal grandparents, Julian B. James graduated from Virginia Tech in 1986 with a Bachelors of Science in Business (Management). Most of his career he was a District Manager for CVS. He enjoyed going to the Virginia Tech Football games, and was a fan of the NFL Miami Dolphins. He enjoyed going to Northside football games to see his daughters in the band, and attended even after they had graduated. He watched Nascar and enjoyed going to the races when he could. Jeff Gordon was who he liked. Myrtle Beach was his favorite vacation spot. He spent many days when he wasn't at the beach at Busch Gardens and Water Country in Williamsburg. He enjoyed skiing and fishing. He was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church and he truly loved God. Most of all, James was a wonderful husband and great dad! Special thanks to Addie, Keith's hospice nurse. She was his Angel and we will always be forever grateful for her. Charles Ronald "Charlie" Holloway Charles (“Bud” or “Charlie” to his friends) R. Holloway, 83, of Roanoke went to his heavenly home in the early morning on Thursday, March 30. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Dora C. Holloway. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce M. Holloway of Roanoke; son and family, Michael, Annette, David, and Jonathan Holloway of Yorktown; brother, Ralph W. Holloway and niece, Debbie H. Richardson of Vinton; brother- and sister-in-law, Eddy and Sandra McClelland of Vinton. Charlie was a talented baseball player in his youth, a feared softball slugger in his middle years, and an avid collector of baseball cards in his later years. He spent his entire working career with Roanoke’s newspapers, beginning with the evening World News, and retiring from the Roanoke Times after 47 years. Most importantly, Charlie loved the Lord deeply and dearly, faithfully serving Him in many capacities over the years at Lynn Haven Baptist Church and later First Baptist Roanoke. The family offers a heartfelt thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice and the staff at Hermitage in Roanoke for their loving care, assistance, and comfort.3 He was born on May 20, 1933 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2,3 He married Joyce Ann McClelland on December 24, 1953 at Roanoke, Virginia.1 Charles Ronald "Charlie" Holloway died on March 30, 2017 at Virginia at age 83.3

Julie continued to take classes and peruse a Nursing Degree, while being a Care Giver with Home Instead Senior Care. She loved her clients and cared about them as her own family. Her beautiful blue eyes and her caring and giving heart will be so very missed on this Earth. But we will cling to the Promise that we will see you again one day. on May 26, 2011.3
