     Everett Gray Reed Sr. was buried at Farris Cemetery, Riner, Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁴ He was born on March 25, 1925 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.² He married Etta Mae Flinchum, daughter of John Martin Flinchum and Roxie Gertrude Poff, on February 18, 1977 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2,5 Everett Gray Reed Sr. died on November 20, 2006 at Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 81.^3,4 He Everett Gray Reed, Sr., 81, of Dublin, passed away Monday, November 20, 2006 when God needed another angel. He was born in Montgomery County the son of the late Lonnie Everett and Pearly Jarrels Reed. He was a loving and gentle man who never met a stranger. He was a long-time member of the Duncan Chapel Church of the Brethren and a retired employee of Federal Mogul. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of more than 29 years, Etta Mae Reed of Dublin; sons and daughters-in-law, Everett, Jr. and Nokey Reed of Pulaski; John H. and Roxie Reed of Radford; daughters and sons-in-law, Pearl and Rudolph Quesenberry of Willis, and Brenda and Claude Wilson of Dublin; stepdaughters, Wanda Reed and special friend David Burton, and Roxie Reed; eight grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren; three sisters, Roxie Akers of Christiansburg; Toye Owens of Hopewell and Elsie Altizer of Pulaski. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive him. He had many special friends and co-workers from Carnation Milk Company and Federal Mogul and other neighbors and friends too numerous to mention. The family wishes to thank Social Service, Skyline Manors C Wing staff, the Doctors and Nurses at Carilion NRVMC, especially second shift surgical wing for making him Comfortable; Dr. Jamison and staff. Funeral services will conducted two days later due to the holiday Friday, November 24, 2006 at 1 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Conner retired from General Electric.      Melvin Leon Francisco Melvin Leon Francisco, 74 of Floyd, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, James & Virginia Francisco; and siblings, Norma Jean Lipscomb, Erma Jo Huffman, Pete Francisco, Margarett Sweet, Clyde Francisco, Richard Francisco, and Franklin Francisco. Melvin will be remembered as a giving and kind-hearted man. He was often seen giving people rides to and from food banks. He was always sharing jokes and funny stories. He was a treasured son-in-law to Emmie C. Conner and will be missed by his cat, Luna. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Francisco; daughters & son-in-law, Jo Ann & Will Mcglothlin, Peggy Francisco, and Linda Beltran; grandchildren, William Lee Statome (Trae), Amanda Statome, Cristofer Lopez, and Laci Lopez, Chelsea Francisco, Larissa Raines, Haley Raines, and Conner Raines; great-grandchildren, Brayleigh, Mariza, and Sage; brother, Marvin Francisco; and mother-in-law, Emmie C. He served his country in both the U.S. Air Force and U. S. Army during Vietnam. Surviving family include a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony "Tony" and Pam Cox of Vinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Robbie Parker of Rocky Mount; mother, Katherine J. A funeral service will be held at the graveside at Fairview Cemetery, with the VFW Post #1264 giving military rites. on November 17, 1999.⁴

He was a member of Knights of Pythias Osceola Lodge 47 and the D. O. K. K. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle C. Mallory; two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Hart, Friendswood, Texas; Mrs. Shirley Sullivan, Occoquan, Va; step daughter, Mrs. Juanita C. Morris, Roanoke; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtie M. Butt, Lafayette, Va; Mrs. Ruby M. Damron, Roanoke; Mrs. Hilda M. Cimma, Oxen Hill, Md; nine granddaughters and three grandsons. Interment will be in Sherwood. on June 3, 1974.⁶
