Hood, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Roy Jarrett of Rocky Mount, Gloria and Wade Cash of Salem, Carol and Billy Marshall of Catawba; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Pollard of Greenville, S.C., Betty Lou Grant of Roanoke; brother, Russell Deaton of Salem. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2004, at Lotz Salem Chapel with Dr. Barry Webster officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem. on January 31, 2004.2

Bud retired from General Electric after 30 years of service. He was a longtime member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Salem. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans. Bud was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting, fishing and a longtime member of Lame Buck Hunt Club. He loved being outdoors and working in his yard, garden and flowers. Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Delores (Dee) Shepherd Diamond. He is survived by his son, Allan Diamond whom he was a loving father to; his daughter-in-law, Jessica Elaine; two grandchildren, Ashley Diamond Rakes (Jason) and Chris Diamond (Ashley); also many nieces and nephews; longtime friend and hunting buddy, Joe Golding. Funeral services celebrating Bud's life will be 2 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2014 at Lotz Chapel in Salem with Pastor Dan Netting officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends are also welcome to a time of visitation on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home Salem. on March 2, 2014.3
