Burnside on December 24, 1893 at Fayette Co., West Virginia.4 Charles R. Epperly died on June 4, 1948 at Fayetteville, Fayette Co., West Virginia, at age 78.5,6 He Funeral services will be held today for Charles R. Epperly, 78, who died at his home on Route 1, Fayetteville, at 7 a.m. Friday. Death was attributed to acute myocarditis. Burial will follow in the Dempsey cemetery. A farmer, he was a member of the Gatewood Baptist church. He was born on July 25, 1870, at Dempsey. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Emma Epperly; four brothers, Frank, Oak Hill; Henry, Fayetteville; Lee, Fayetteville; and Tyree, Kentucky; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Nugen, Oak Hill and the following children: Fred, Scarbro; E. O., Gatewood; Oscar, Brooklyn; Howard, Brooklyn; Mrs. Blance Wheeler, Oak Hill; Mrs. Louise Poff, Rock Lick; Mrs. Madeline Howell, Huntington; and Gladys Epperly, at home. There are also 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. on June 6, 1948.6

Mrs. Camma Bishop of Oak Hill, and Mrs. Lottie Kayser of Gassaway; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Dempsey. on April 12, 1958.7

Survivors include his wife, Flossie; four sons, Herman, Woodrow and Robert all of Fayetteville, and Bernard of Toledo, Ohio; six daughters, Mrs. Luther Good of Oak Hill, Mrs. John Burdett of Hinton, Mrs. Mildred Selvey of Fayetteville, Mrs. Vella Joe Peterson of MacComb, Ill, Mrs. Mary Hildreth of Bluefield, Va., and Mrs. Jesse Campbell of Dayton, Ohio; three brothers, Lee and Frank, both of Fayetteville, and Tyree of Plainsville, Mich; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Huse Memorial Park in Fayetteville with Masonic graveside rites. on November 6, 1962.5

She was a member of the Gatewood Missionary Baptist Church and was born in Dempsey, Fayette County. Surviving are four daughters, Miss Gladys Epperly, at home, Mrs. Blanche Wheeler and Mrs. Louise Poff, both of Minden, and Mrs. Clyde Howell of Huntington; four sons, Fred of Scarbro, Earl of Fayetteville, Oscar of Oak Hill and Howard of Rensford; a sister, Mrs. Ida Epperly of Oak Hill; two brothers, Charles Burnside of Morgantown and Price Burnside of Milton; 37 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Todd of Fayetteville; a brother, Howard Epperly of Cross Lanes; two sisters, Maydline Howell of Huntington and Louise Poff of Rocklick; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the Huse Memorial Park in Fayetteville. on July 30, 1986.7
