In addition to gardening, she enjoyed helping others through her volunteer work. She served with the Women's Auxiliary at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL. In Spartanburg, she was an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and was a Docent for the Spartanburg Arts Council, of which she was named Docent of the Year. She did extensive volunteer work for Hatcher Garden and Woodland Preserve, where she particularly enjoyed conducting tours through the Garden for children and adults alike. Survivors include a daughter, Donna K. Fagan (Richard); son, Barry W. Kiefer; and a grandson, Christopher M. Fagan. Predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Martin. on October 18, 2010.2

John Franklin Foley Sr. John Franklin Foley Sr., 94, of Roanoke, VA. passed away on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023. John was born on May 7th, 1928 to Charlie T. Foley, Sr. and Mary Boitnott Foley. John loved his job as a truck driver for American Freight, which he later retired from. He also had a passion for fishing as well as other things. John had a particular pickup truck that he kept in his garage. He would regularly sand down and spray paint this pickup. Even though no one else saw it, he could always see "ruins" in the paint that would require another touch up job. John also liked "piddling" around the house, as he would call it, in order to pass time. He was preceded in death by both parents Charlie and Mary Foley; his brothers, C.T. Foley, Jr., Joe W. Foley, Lawrence Foley, Benny L. Foley, and Elmer Foley; his sisters, Esther Simmons, Elizabeth Cundiff, and Elsie Cundiff. John is survived by his loving wife, Mary Vivian Foley; his children, Patricia Anna Bell, Deborah Lynn Mundy, John F. Foley Jr., Donna Maria St. Clair, Alfred Wayne Foley, and David Owen Foley; his siblings, Lester Foley, Bobby M. Foley, Lilly Mahone, and Margaret Latimore. John is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
