She was a former president of the Ladies Friendship Club of Marie, an avid bowler and a devoted wife, mother, and grandparent. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman Shanklin, former sheriff of Summers County, Lee Roy Shanklin, Kyle Shanklin; and one infant sister. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Howard Jackson Cody at home; three sons, G. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the New Hope United Methodist Church at Marie with Pastor Sam Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Church Cemetery at Marie. Survivors include his loving wife, Judith Welder Humphreys of Fairlea; two sons, Mark Allen Humphreys and wife, Betsy, of Chesterfield, Mich., and Bruce Duane Humphreys and wife, Heather, of Asbury; two stepsons, James L. Brown II and wife, Sharon, of Covington, Va., and Jason Lee Brown of Maxwelton; three brothers, Ralph Humphreys of Fairlea, Jimmy Humphreys of Shreveport, La., and Jack Humphreys of Hinton; two sisters, Margaret Childers of Beckley and Dorothy Quick of Lewisburg; four grandchildren, Autumn, Landon, Hunter, and Bailey Humphreys; and three stepgrandchildren, Chad, Abigail, and Seth Brown. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Christine Lively; one son, Randy C.
