Oscar Lewis Basham was buried at Lilly-Crews Cemetery, Nimitz, Summers Co., West Virginia.3 He was born on October 12, 1917 at Ellison, Summers Co., West Virginia.4,3 He married Virginia Ruth Miller, daughter of Virgil Lacy Miller and Eva Frances Bennett, circa 1957.1,2,3 Oscar Lewis Basham died on April 27, 2008 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 90.4,3 He JUMPING BRANCH -- Oscar Lewis Basham, 90, of Jumping Branch, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the Charleston Area Medical Center General Division, following injuries received in an accident on April 15, 2008. Born Oct. 12, 1917, at Ellison, he was the son of the late Aden Lewis and Ollie Via Pack Basham. Mr. Basham was a member of the Jumping Branch Gospel Tabernacle and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired truck driver for the W.Va. Department of Highways, and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruth Miller Basham; five children, Marvin Basham and wife Marsha, Daniel Basham and wife Sandra, Virginia Ward and husband Grady, and David Basham and wife Shelia, all of Jumping Branch, and Frances Richmond and husband Danny of Loris, S.C; nine grandchildren, Adrian, Danica, Kristin, Stacy, Jason, Brandon, Erin, Susan, and Logan; and a sister, Irene Gibbons of Clarksville, Tenn. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton, with Pastor Elmo Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from noon until funeral time on Wednesday. on April 28, 2008.3

Joyce Clorene Harvey was buried at Lilly-Crews Cemetery, Nimitz, Summers Co., West Virginia.2 She was born on February 23, 1935 at Cave Ridge, Summers Co., West Virginia.2 As of November 26, 1958,her married name was Miller.1 She married James Lacy "Jimmy" Miller, son of Virgil Lacy Miller and Eva Frances Bennett, on November 26, 1958.1,2 Joyce Clorene Harvey died on September 11, 2016 at Summers Co., West Virginia, at age 81.2 She Joyce Clorene Harvey Miller was born at Cave Ridge in Summers County on Feb. 23, 1935 and passed away at her residence on September 11, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Oris Lee and Bessie (Hogan) Harvey. Her mother died a few days after her birth, and her paternal grandparents, John Pearly and Ida (Lilly) Harvey took her to raise. She resided with her Grandmother Ida until November 26, 1958, when she married James Lacy Miller. James "Jimmy" preceded her in death on October 13, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her brother Alva L. Harvey and half-sister Lora Mae Williams and step-mother Piney Harvey. Mrs. Miller was an excellent gardener. She canned and preserved much of the produce they raised. She assisted her late husband with numerous woodworking projects. She was an outstanding cook. She loved preparing large family meals and having her family around her. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church at Red Sulphur Springs, and had resided at Forest Hill for 51 years. She is survived by three children: Medeta Miller Watts, Lacy Lynn (Margaret) Miller, and Tommy A. Harvey. She is also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild: Nathaniel (Wendi) Watts, Andrew (Kaitlin) Watts, Ida Beth Miller, Samuel Miller, Sarah Harvey, Daniel Harvey, and Lundon Kinsolving. She is also survived by one brother, Edward (Althea) Harvey) and one sister-in-law, Mary Harvey, and numerous special cousins. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. James Blume and staff at Forest Hill Family Practice, to Davita Dialysis at Fairlea, and to her caregivers Chrystal Ward and Marlene Cook. Her children also want to send a special thanks out to her precious grandchildren, cousins, and neighbors who assisted in her care and were faithful to call or visit. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, September 15, 2016 with Pastor Derrick Leslie and Pastor Eddie Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 6 - 8 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral parlors. Those serving as pallbearers will be: sons and grandsons, along with Gary Meadows, Rudy Allen, Bob Cales, and Robert McDonald. Honorary Pallbearers will be her brother Edward Harvey, friend Sam Goodall, and friend Greg Bragg. Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton. on September 12, 2016.2

He died May 6, 1959. Nellie was known to her friends and relatives for her love of recipes, cooking and puzzle books. She put her love for cooking to work as a cook at Port Huron Hospital, from where she retired. She also enjoyed catalog shopping. She is survived by two daughters, Marcia J. (Hank) Saph of Spurger, Texas, and Patricia A. (Dennis) Minock of Kimball Township; one son, Robert L. (Ruth) Miller of Port Huron; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mary McCracken of Indianapolis; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy DeMont of Warsaw, Ind., and June DeMont of Argos, Ind; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and one grandson. Burial will follow in Acacia Park Cemetery, Beverly Hills, Mich. on September 16, 2001.4

She was a resident of Westminster Village from 2002 to 2005. Born June 2, 1919, in Oakland, IL, she was raised in Brazil, IN. She received her registered nurse degree from Indiana University School of Nursing in Indianapolis, and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Indiana University in Bloomington, where she was inducted into the Lamda Theta Tau Scholastic Honorary Sorority. She married Roland Miller on Aug. 8, 1941, in Rolla, MO, and he preceded her in death. He was a pediatrician in Lafayette. Mrs. Miller was a member of Delta Theta Tau and Central Presbyterian Church, where she was active in Circle 13 for many years. She was a seamstress and enjoyed needlework, playing bridge, playing classical piano, and computers. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling, and were among the first westerners admitted to communist China in 1979. Surviving are a daughter, and two sons. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Private interment will take place at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum. on July 8, 2006.1
