Mr. Lacey served in the Navy from 1939 to 1946. He was later employed by the Nebraska State Patrol from 1946 until 1950. He then worked as a welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1950 until his retirement in 1979. He had lived in Beatrice for the past 20 years. Survivors include his wife Betty; three daughters, Donna Rae Wenger and her husband, Chris, of Federal Way, Leslie Jo Sherman and her husband, Chuck, of Bremerton and Becky Jean Elsmore and her husband, David, of Port Orchard; a sister, Phyllis Ruhmann of Lincoln, Neb; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Delbert. Funeral services were held May 16 in Beatrice. on May 31, 2002.5

Kreimeyer died on June 30, 2017 at Beatrice, Gage Co., Nebraska, at age 86.1 She BEATRICE -- Betty L. Lacey, 86, of Beatrice died Friday night, June 30, 2017, at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on April 17, 1931, in York. She moved with her family to Beatrice and was a 1949 graduate of Beatrice High School. She married Robert Pickrel on Nov. 5, 1949, and they later divorced. She worked at Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph and O'Shea-Rogers Tractor and Equipment, both of Lincoln. She returned to Beatrice and worked for Herb Schneider Real Estate and then was the secretary for the nursing department at Southeast Community College. She also worked as a receptionist for Fox Funeral Home. She married Donivan Lacey on Sept. 30, 1984. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and had taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed embroidery work, ceramics, crafts, and dancing. Survivors include one daughter, Lynn Grubb and husband Dave of New Llano, Louisiana; one daughter-in-law, Ann Pickrel of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Cary Pickrel, Angela D. Freund, Jeremy Grubb and wife Kamilah Todd-Grubb, Rachel Pickrel, and Jacob Pickrel; six great-grandchildren, C.J. Pickrel, Skylar King, Rhiannon Pickrel, Brooklynn Freund, Jackson Freund and Daveion Grubb; one great-great grandson, Andrew Pickrel; one aunt, Elfie Seng of McCool Junction; many nieces and nephews; special family friends, Kirk and Denise Thornburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Alice Harms Kreimeyer; her husband Donivan, who died May 13, 2002; one son, R. David Pickrel; daughter-in-law, Debra Hendrickson Pickrel; and one grandson-in-law, Travis Freund. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, at St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice with the Rev. Greg Gabriel officiating. Cremation will follow the service and private inurnment of the cremains will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice on Thursday. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the church. A memorial has been established to St. John Lutheran Church with Marilyn Brolhorst in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home from 5 p.m. Monday until 9 p.m. Tuesday and then one hour preceding the service at the church on Wednesday. The family will meet and greet relatives and friends Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. on July 3, 2017.1

She also enjoyed her bible, which she read often and was a comfort to her. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Nelson Methodist Church. Coral was preceded in death by her husband, Chub, on December 27, 1970; her parents and one brother. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Eva Lolita Nygren of San Francisco, California, and Mrs. Eulanda Felten of Kenesaw; two sons, Dan V. and Rex E. Lacey, both of Kenesaw; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Ada Lacey of Lincoln and Mrs. Rubbie Corliss of Stranton, Colorado. Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 12, 1976, at 2 p.m. at the Klawitter Funeral Home Chapel of Nelson. Officiating were Reverends Maurice Holt and Clair Kess. Burial was in the Davenport Cemetery. Klawitter Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of the arrangements. on February 19, 1976.2

     Eva Lolita N. "Lyn" Lacey Lolita "Lyn" N. Nygren, 85, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Lyn was born November 15, 1924 in Davenport, NE. As a youth in Nebraska she was very active in music. She participated in many musicals and stage performances where she held the lead parts in singing and playing the piano before live audiences. After graduation from, Blue Hill, NE in 1942, she traveled to the West Coast and lived in Seattle where her two cousins from Nebraska lived and served in the Navy. While living in Seattle she continued her love of music and took classes at the University of Washington at the Cornish School of Music and Northwestern School of Music. She sang with a band at the U.S.O. and worked as a switchboard operator and admissions clerk at the Swedish Hospital in Seattle, WA. After the war she moved to San Francisco where she bought a home and worked for Premium Products as a bookkeeper and Juilliard Alpha as an Executive Secretary until she retired and moved back to live in Nebraska. While living in San Francisco she was an active member of the Lutheran Church, a past president of the VFW, and a member of the Eastern Star and the Union Local 318. Lyn had traveled throughout the United States and visited many different cities. She also traveled twice to Canada, Mexico and Europe. She took two extensive trips to Europe and visited ten countries on one trip and five countries on another. While in Switzerland she visited her relatives in Feldbach and saw the family home where her great-grandmother and grandmother were born. When in Austria she saw where The Sound of Music was filmed, in Germany she visited where the Nuremberg trials were held, and in Italy she saw the Scala Opera House, but to her sadness it was closed. When she retired in Nebraska she resided in Kenesaw and Hastings. Having worked all her life, she started to work again at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, as a secretary at the Respiratory Cardiology Department for eight years. Lyn retired again and lived in Hastings then until her death. While living in Kenesaw she was an active member of the choir at the Lutheran Church in Kenesaw. Lyn was an active member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, VFW, Eagles, Eastern Star and was a past queen for the Daughters of the Nile all in Hastings, NE. While living in Seattle she met and married Vincent Nygren. They had one child, a son, Michael Nygren. They later divorced. She is survived by one son, Michael, and wife Patti of Agoura Hills, CA. Three grandchildren, Jason, Kirsten and Amanda, and three great grandchildren, Vienna, Logan and Jack. A brother, Dan Lacey and wife Pat of Grand Island, NE, a nephew Brad Lacey and his daughter Belinda and a niece Diane Parker and husband Brent and their two children, Lacey and Dustin as well as Diane's mother Carolyn Lacey, niece Natasha Rathorst and husband Justin and two sons. Cousins, Phyllis Ruhumann of Lincoln, NE, Raymond Corliss of Golden CO, Shirley Damian of Lincoln, NE and Gerald Schmitt of Ord, NE and a host of relatives from Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Rex Lacey, and her sister Eulanda Felton.4 Her married name was Cosman.6 Her married name was Nygren.4 She and Vincent Alfred Nygren were divorced.4 Eva Lolita N.      Dan Valdean Lacey was born on August 3, 1938 at Blue Hill, Webster Co., Nebraska.3 He married Patricia "Pat" Van-Wagner on June 5, 1981.3 Dan Valdean Lacey died on April 19, 2016 at Grand Island, Hall Co., Nebraska, at age 77.3 He Dan Valdean Lacey, 77, of Grand Island passed away on Tuesday, April 19, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Island. To honor his wishes, cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Abundant Life Christian Center. Pastor Dan O'Neill will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan was born Aug. 3, 1938, at Blue Hill, the son of Guy "Chub" and Coral Lacey. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia "Pat" Lacey; children, Brad Lacey of Beaver Crossing and Diane (Brent) Parker of Kenesaw; grandchildren, Lacey (Kevin) Mack, Dustin Mayfield and Belinda Messimer; great-grandchildren, Ember Stell, Titus and Tate Mack; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Al and Elaine Van-Wagner of Milford, Conn; a sister-in-law, Ann (Andy) Bartone of Prospect, Conn; a brother-in-law, Frank Maulucci of Hastings; nieces, Lucinda (Roger) Ward of Lubbock, Texas, Natasha (Justin) Rethorst of Kearney, Ann Frances Kane of Prospect, Conn., Frankie Jo Maulucci of Hastings and Shiela Ballard of Lubbock, Texas; a nephew, Galen Stansbury of Hastings; great-nieces and great-nephews, Melisa (Patrick) Green, April (Biraj) Varghese, Lindsay (Joey) Littlefield, all from Texas, and Payton, Brooks and Maddox Rethorst of Kearney; and a cousin, Phyliss Ruhmann of Lincoln. He also leaves behind a great number of great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews as well as a beloved church family. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Rex Lacey; sister, Eulanda Felten and her husband, Norm; and sister, Lolita Nygren. Dan grew up at Nelson and received his education in the Nelson school system and the Navy. He entered the United States Navy in July 1956 and was honorably discharged in July of 1959 at Belville, Texas. He was united in marriage to Patricia "Pat" Maulucci Lacey on June 5, 1981. Following their marriage they lived in Kenesaw, and then moved to Grand Island in June 2002. He was employed part time by Sam's and Mirror Image Car Wash after many years in sales. He was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center and loved Jesus his Lord and Savior. He attended a treasured Bible study at the home of Karl and Shirley Hughes, led by Mike Dubbs, and was baptized in Sherman Lake on Aug. 25, 2007. He enjoyed serving at the Salvation Army with his church family. Dan had a love for horses all his life and was a member of the Kenesaw Saddle Club for many years until moving to Grand Island. An appaloosa named "Hawk" had a special place in Dan's heart. His wife never asked, "Who do you love more, me or Hawk?" Traveling to rodeos, horse shows and bull ridings were things Dan loved to do with his wife. Memorials are suggested to Project Hunger of Grand Island. on April 23, 2016.3

Funeral services were Thursday, August 19, at 10 a.m. at Bulter-Volland Funeral Home Chapel in Hastings with the Rev. Thomas Murray officiating. Pallbearers were Tony Ramold, Rod Colburn, Kevin Kulek, James Thompson, Dale Rose and Bill Coats. Honorary pallbearers were Cal Callan, John Coats, Gred Ramold, Dick Speth and Art Sole. Burial with military rites was at Juniata Cemetery. on August 26, 1993.5
