She married Tommy Vernon Elmore, son of John Dennis "Johnnie" Elmore and Marjorie Lucille "Margie" Burns.¹ Ruie Estella Smith was born on April 13, 1950 at West Virginia.² She died on January 16, 2001 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 50.¹ She Ruie Estella Elmore, 50, of Charleston, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, in CAMC Memorial Hospital, following a short illness. She was a food attendant with Shoney's restaurant. Surviving: mother, Sylvia Smith of Ohley; daughters, Cindy Elmore, Angela Elmore and Kasey Campsey of Charleston, Christine Rader of Hawaii; son, Thomas Elmore of Cabin Creek; brothers, Phillip Smith and Weed Smith of Ohley; sisters, Sherry Barnardis of Scott Depot, Helena Skaggs and Betty Provinces of Ohley, Darlene Bowels of Eskdale; seven grandchildren. Funeral service will be noon Friday at Rhonda Apostolic Church, Rhonda with Dale Pitsenbarger and Dick Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. on January 18, 2001.¹

He was born March 12, 1938, in Bent Mountain, Va. to the late Witt and Perdine Walters. He was preceded in death by a son, Dwayne Walters; three brothers, Carlton, Bobby and Billy Walters; a sister, Shirley Thompson; and a brother-inlaw, Bee Thompson. Mr. Walters is survived by his wife of 22 years, Vicki B. Walters; children, Vicky W. Via and husband, Gerald, of Roanoke, Va., Cathy Sowers and husband, Wendell, of Christiansburg, Va; and a stepdaughter, Terrie Martin : and husband, Ed, of Chesterfield, Va; two granddaughters, Melissa V. Johnson and husband, Brian, of Fincastle, Va. and Trisha T. Heidt and husband, Chris, of Radford, Va; three great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Emma and Eli Johnson, of Fincastle, Va; mother-in-law, Geraldine Blair; -in-law, Les Blair and wife, Lorraine, of Richmond, Va; sisters-in-law, Clair, Totsy and Peggy Walters; former wife, Bonnie Dunn, of Roanoke; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Richard Turner, 56, of Roanoke, passed away at his home Friday, July 16, 2004. He was raised in Floyd, Virginia and was a Boy Scout. Richard was the Founder and Owner of the Rod Shop, Inc., and was a member of Grandin Court Baptist Church and also a member of Great Oaks Country club. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred E.
