Survivors include: sons, Benny Reed and wife Cindy of Montcalm, WV, Michael Reed of Montcalm, WV; daughter, Tammy Cook and husband Danny of Brushfork, WV; brother, Lonnie Dunn and wife Connie of Bluefield, WV; sisters, Linda Jennings of North Carolina, Janice Wyatt of Montcalm, WV, June Wess of Montcalm, WV, Wanda Hardin of North Carolina; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Born at Echols, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grover Hodges. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a retired coal miner and had been a life-long resident of Montcalm. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lula Dunn Hodges; one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Hodges of Canton, N. J; one son, Larry Hodges with the U. S. Army in the Canal Zone; one half-brother, Wiley Smith of Norfolk, Va; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Horton of Montcalm; six step-daughters, Mrs. Wanda Hodges, Mrs. Janice Lanter, Mrs. Phyllis Jennings, all of Montcalm, Mrs. Linda Jennings, Mrs. Naomi Reed and Mrs. June Weis, all of Baltimore, Md; one stepson, Lonnie Dunn of Montcalm. on April 1, 1974.4

Lonnie Coy Dunn Sr. Lonnie Coy Dunn Sr., 76, of Bluefield WV passed away at home on April 25, 2026, after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons disease. He was born on March 10, 1950, in Mercer County. He was the son of the late Coy Oscar and Laula Hodges Dunn. He spent most of his life in Montcalm WV before moving to Bluefield in his retirement years. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam war. After his military service he spent time working in the coal mines. He enjoyed spending time with his family including visits from his kids, grandkids, sisters, and his nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by his sisters Betty Edwards, Naomi Reed, Janice Wyatt, and Phyllis Jennings, a brother Mac Wimmer, and a stepdaughter Juanita Clower. Survivors include Wife: Connie Dunn, Daughters: Shelia (Bobby) Wilmer of Lakeland FL, Joni (Steve) Webb of Logan WV, Son: Lonnie (Terri Lynn) Dunn Jr of Beckley WV, Stepdaughter Maria (Charlie) Johnson of Rock WV. Grandchildren: Thomas (Danielle) Webb of Cleveland TN, Ryan (Carey) Webb of Cleveland TN, Jamey Wilmer of Lakeland FL, and Ashlyn Dunn of Beckley WV. Sisters: June Weiss of Bluefield WV, Linda Jennings of High Point NC, Wanda Harden of Thomasville NC, plus several nieces and nephews. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Va where grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Barbara was born June 19, 1955 and was the daughter of the late Dorothy P. Williams Graham and Harry R. Williams. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Randy and David Williams; sisters, Kathy Faulkner, Tonya Williams and Rhonda Sue Graham and grandparents, John and Myrtle Hardy and Pearl and Bill Williams. Barbara grew up in the Coopers/Bramwell WV area where she attended Bramwell High School. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She had lived on Tabernacle Hill in Montcalm for the past 45 years where she was a homemaker and raised her family. She is survived by her son, Lonnie Dunn Jr. and wife Terri of Beckley; daughters, Shelia Wilmer and husband Bobby of Lakeland, Fl. and Joni Webb and husband Steve of Skating Rink Hollow, Montcalm; grandchildren, Thomas and Ryan Webb, Jamey Wilmer and Ashlyn Dunn; sisters, Linda Perkins and family of Athens; Terry White and family of Bluefield, Audrey Sluss, husband Chris and family of Brushfork and Michelle Myers and family of Bluefield; brother, Herbert Williams, wife Connie and family of Old Bramwell Rd, Bluefield; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; special friend, Lonnie Dunn Sr. of Brushfork; special family friends, Ray (and the late) Phyllis Jennings, Priscilla Turner and Rodney “Bubby” Weiss of Montcalm.

Janice Faye Dunn Janice Faye Wyatt, 72, of Princeton, WV passed Tuesday, April 15, 2024, after a long illness at Mercer Nursing and Rehab Center in Bluefield, WV. Born August 4, 1952 in Mercer County, WV, Janice made her home in the Montcalm area. She was the daughter of the late Coy and Laula Dunn. Janice was a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed attending church and she attended The World Wide Church of God in Bluefield, WV for many years, and later on she attended Cornerstone Family Church in Princeton, WV while she was at home. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband Burnie Wyatt and her stepdaughter Julene Neuman, as well as one brother, Mac Wimmer and three sisters, Betty Fritz, Naomi Reed, and Phyllis Jennings. Those left to cherish Janice's memory are her siblings, June Weiss of Bluefield, WV, Wanda Harden of North Carolina, Linda Jennings of North Carolina, and Lonnie Dunn of Bluefield, WV and her children, Linda Johnson and husband Darrell, of Princeton, WV, Brenda Kennedy (Michael O' Donnell) of Princeton, WV, Emmett Lanter and wife Diane of Rock, WV, Steven Lanter and wife Melissa, of Montcalm, WV, and Tim Lanter Jr. (Boo) and wife Cassie of Princeton, WV; as well as fourteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and special nieces and nephews. Burial will follow in Belcher Cemetery. The two were fatally injured in an automobile mishap on Coaldale Mountain Thursday evening. The senior Hodge was born in Raleigh County, a son of the late Grover Preston and Sallie Miller Hodge. He was a retired miner. His wife, Mrs. Myrtle Worthington Hodge, is a patient at Bluefield Sanitarium. Additional survivors include a daughter, Connie Jean Hodge of the home; four sons, Ray Richard and Paul Joseph Hodge of the home, Junior Lee Hodge of Rook and Homer Hodge of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Hodge Horton of Chicago; a brother, Jimmy Hodge of Montcalm; five grandchildren. The younger Hodge was born in Mercer County. He is also survived by his wife. Mrs. Wanda Marie Dunn Hodge of Chicago, and a son, James Wade Hodge of the home. Pallbearers for the senior Hodge will be A. R. Hedrick, Robert Saddler, Nelson Grose, Robert Vaughan, Clayton Bishop and George Shrader. Pallbearers for the younger Hodge will be Perry Miller Jr., Leonard Reed, Larry Shrader, Raymond Lusk, Jimmy Shrader and James Fagg. on March 27, 1965.4

Born Nov. 20, 1931, in Mayberry, W.V., to Charlie and Maggie Mae Thompson, Dorothy was raised and educated in West Virginia. She married James William David Hodges in Lashmeet, W.V., on Aug. 30, 1949, and they moved to Butte in 1962. Dorothy worked at Harrington's Cafe from 1965 until 1985. From there, she worked at the Pit Stop on Harrison Avenue, and in 1989 started working at Pork Chop John's in Uptown Butte. She retired after the death of her husband in 1998. A devoted wife and mother, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, James Hodges; parents, Charlie and Maggie Mae Thompson; brothers and sister-in-law, Buster Thompson, Dale and Betty Thompson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Jack King, Gerthie and Oscar Hagy, Clara and Jim Taylor, Ardith and Berton Hardy, Claudine and Bennie Clay and Shelby Mullins. Survivors include her children, Junior and Sue Hodges, Ann Hodges, Delsie and Bobby James, Carson and Lorraine Hodges, Alice Taylor; grandchildren, Laura and Renee Belmontez, Clarence and Shelby Whitworth, James Hayes, Billie and Joe Hennelly, Chasity and Jerred Hamburg, J. W. Hodges, Justin and Austin Taylor and Virginia Hodges; great-grandchildren, Kassandra and Alexis Whitworth, Isabella and Dominic Belmontez and Eternity Hamburg. Also surviving are her brother and sister-in-law Clinton and Rita Thompson, sister-in-law Lois, brother-in-law Thomas Mullins, special relative Versie Hall and countless friends and family, all of whom she adored. Visitation for Dorothy will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Carroll Walker officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. on August 12, 2003.3
