     Shirley Laverne Janc was buried at Chico Cemetery, 881 Mangrove Avenue, Chico, Butte Co., California.² She was born on December 14, 1932 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California.^1,2 As of circa 1948,her married name was Brownfield.¹ She married James A. “Jimmy” Brownfield circa 1948.¹ Shirley Laverne Janc died on May 27, 2018 at Chico, Butte Co., California, at age 85.² She Shirley Laverne Brownfield was born to parents, Louis and Pearl Janc in Los Angeles, CA in 1932. She grew up in Red Bluff, CA. She married her high school sweetheart, Jimmy Brownfield. They were married for 47 years. He predeceased her. Mom's primary hobby was gardening as evidenced by her beautiful yard. Whatever the task, it was completed to her high standards. She delighted in time spent with her family and she was always a willing participant in any given project. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Murrish (Mike), and Sandy Brownfield; her granddaughter Brandie Murrish (April); and her great-granddaughters, Payton and Brekyn. She is also survived by her brother, John Janc (Emma); and numerous nieces and nephews. on June 1, 2018.¹

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred Lee Hicks, Sr. Surviving are his mother, Ruby Helen Hicks; seven brothers, David and Betty Hicks, Carl Hicks, Richard and Pam Hicks, Roger and Polly Hicks, William and Elaine Hicks, Harold and Katherine Hicks, Ronnie and Linda Hicks; two sisters, Helen and Wayne Angell, Shirley Hicks and Billy Powell; many nieces and nephews.      Richard Wayne Hicks was buried at Monte Vista Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 25 Wades Gap Road, Callaway, Franklin Co., Virginia.⁵ He Richard Wayne Hicks, also known as our own “cowboy warrior”, took his last breath after his long journey with cancer, on January 31, 2020 while surrounded by family at his home. Known by many through his real life “cowboy” appearance, he was quick to draw a crowd but never liked all of the attention. His heart truly shined in the love to all who came across him during his journey. The smile that he wore each day came across to others as an invitation of conversation, of genuine acceptance, a friendly ear, or a way to show that everything was going to be okay. He will be missed but his memories live on. Richard was born on February 11, 1952 a son of the late Wilfred and Ruby Stump Hicks. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Hicks and Ronnie Hicks; one nephew, Joey Hicks; father-in-law, Joseph Yopp; brother-in-law, Steve Yopp. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Pamela S. Hicks; his children, Doug Hicks (Kim), Greg Hicks (Tiffany), Jay Hicks, Brad Hicks (Stephanie) Amanda Craig (Trevor), Belinda Simmons (Brandon Jones), Shawna Legans (Tyrece), Regina Maas (Tyler) and Robert Hicks; his grandchildren, Tanner Blankenship, Josh Hicks, Kenny Hicks, Nik Hicks, Hunter Hicks, Brianna Hicks, Ashlyn Hicks, Daisha Hicks, Luke Hicks, Lauren Hicks, Lindsie Hicks, Alexis Simmons, Isabella Dunman, Liam Craig, Autumn Simmons, Levi Dunman, Bristol Hicks, Luka Craig, Bentley Reyell, Sophia Legans, Brooke Jones, Scarlett Mass, Avalyn Craig, Troy Sanchez, Isaac Sanchez and Daniel Sanchez; one great-grandchild, Marlee Blankenship. He is also survived by his siblings, David Hicks (Betty), Carl Hicks, Roger Hicks (Polly), William Hicks (Elaine), Helen Angell, Harold Hicks (Kitty) and Shirley Hicks (Billy); mother-in-law, Martha Yopp; brothers-in-law, Rickie Yopp (Donna), Teddy Yopp (Suzanne); sisters-in-law, Debra Brown (Perry) Kathy Stump Yopp and Linda Hicks; His horse, “Doc”; and his canine companion, George; many other family members and friends. Interment will follow in Monte Vista Church of the Brethren Cemetery.⁵ He was born on February 11, 1952 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^3,4,5 He married Betty Lou Huffman on May 19, 1973 at Franklin Co., Virginia.⁴ Richard Wayne Hicks married Pamela Sue Yopp on April 9, 1994 at Franklin Co., Virginia.⁴ Richard Wayne Hicks died on January 31, 2020 at Virginia at age 67.⁵

     William Wilton Hicks was born on October 19, 1954 at Roanoke, Virginia.^3,4 He married Sarah Elaine Shaver, daughter of Luther Benjamin Shaver and Betty Joe Mills, on August 2, 1975 at Roanoke, Virginia.⁴

     Ronald Allen "Ronnie" Hicks Ronald Allen “Ronnie” Hicks, age 50, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Ronnie was born on June 18, 1969 a son of the late Wilfred Lee and Ruby Stump Hicks. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Junior Hicks; one nephew, Joey Hicks; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert Early, Sr. and Lillie Pearl Tyree Patterson; sisters-in-law, Rachel Patterson, Patricia Ann Patterson and Audrey Patterson. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Linda Hicks; his siblings, David Hicks (Betty), Carl Hicks, Richard Hicks (Pam), Roger Hicks (Polly), William Hicks (Elaine), Helen Angell, Harold Hicks (Kitty) and Shirley Hicks (Billy); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Liz Tyree (Leroy), Robert Early Patterson, Jr. (Mary Ellen), Henry Patterson (Dionna), Minister Doris Allen (Bishop Leonard Allen), John “JW” Patterson, Mary Ellen Helms (Patrick), Bobby Patterson, Tracy Patterson and Brenda Gills. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews including two special nieces and one nephew, Crystal Hicks, Travis Hicks and Brittany Hicks “Stinky”; several other family members and friends. Interment will follow in the Patterson Family Cemetery on Georgetown Road, Rocky Mount.⁶ He was buried at Patterson Family Cemetery, Franklin Co., Virginia.⁶ He was born on June 18, 1969 at Roanoke, Virginia.^3,6 He married Linda Kay Patterson on June 21, 1997 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁴ Ronald Allen "Ronnie" Hicks died on January 22, 2020 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 50.⁶

     Taylor Wayne Angell Taylor Wayne Angell, Aug 25, 1964 - Jun 27, 2021. Taylor Wayne Angell, age 56 of Boones Mill, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021.⁵ He was born on August 25, 1964 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^2,3,5 He married Helen Marie Hicks, daughter of Wilfred Lee Hicks and Ruby Helen Stump, on May 9, 1991 at Franklin Co., Virginia.² Taylor Wayne Angell and Helen Marie Hicks were divorced on May 2, 2011 at Franklin Co., Virginia.⁴ Taylor Wayne Angell died on June 27, 2021 at Virginia at age 56.⁵

     Stella Mae Waddell was born on February 10, 1920 at Black Lick, Wythe Co., Virginia.² As of July 15, 1948,her married name was DeWeese.¹ She married Cecil Aries/Arles/Arless DeWeese, son of Lissie Louise "Lizzie" DeWeese, on July 15, 1948 at Smyth Co., Virginia.¹ Stella Mae Waddell and Cecil Aries/Arles/Arless DeWeese were divorced before April 20, 1950.³
