A retired farmer, he had been ill for eight months. The Rev. Dewey Wilson will officiate at services with burial following in the McKinney Cemetery at Sophia. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Lester. Born in 1876, he was a native and life-long residence of Raleigh County. Survivors, in addition to his son Jake, include another son, W. A. Deweese, of Beckley; three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Stone, of Sophia, Mrs. Will Riley McKinney, of Midway, and Mrs. Morris Perant, of Mt. View; 28 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The body was removed to the home from the Williams Funeral Home at Sophia at 7 p.m. yesterday. Active pallbearers include Frank McKinney, Wesley Farley, Frank Stone, Earl Hatcher, Boyd Akers, and Monroe Coleman. on June 11, 1950.1
