She was 85 years of age. Daphne was born on July 10, 1921, at Dingess Branch, the youngest child born to the late Charles and Amanda Sue Williams Lively. Daphne spent her childhood at Glen White and Dingess Branch. She was a 1939 graduate of Trap Hill High School. A resident of the Saxon Road community since the early 1950's, she was employed by the Raleigh County Board of Education as cook at the Fairdale Elementary School with 25 years of service. She was of the Christian faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Havlin H. Covey and her only child, Patty Sue Covey; three brothers, William, James and Charles Lively Jr; and four sisters, Clora Wall, Brooke Tolley, Pearl Stroud, and Ofa Godby. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Services will be 3 p.m. today at the Melton Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Duane Pease officiating. Burial will follow beside her husband and daughter at the Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. on August 29, 2006.2
