Surviving are two sons, Michael Eckert of Herndon, and Roy Eckert of Front Royal; a daughter, Janet DiTamma of Woodbridge; two sisters, Ruth Ann Barnes of Rileyville, and Shirley Madden of Tampa, Fla; two brothers, Richard Eckert of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and William Eckert of Warrenton; and five grandchildren. The Rev. Mark Jarvis will conduct a graveside service 10 a.m. Friday at the Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper. on November 27, 2002.⁹
