     Clarence Edward Richardson was born on October 1, 1924 at Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.4,5 He married Lois Irene Stanley on October 19, 1946 at Roanoke, Virginia.2,8,3 Clarence Edward Richardson died on October 3, 2016 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 92.2 He Clarence E. (Rich) Richardson, 92, of Roanoke died Monday, October 3, 2016 at the home of James and Sharon Mundy where he was residing. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lois Irene Stanley Richardson; his parents, Angie and Claudia Smith Richardson; and his sister, Louise Hudson. Clarence was born in Roanoke and graduated from Jefferson High School with the class of 1942. He remained a lifelong resident of Roanoke. In his younger years he worked for the N & W Railroad as a dining room steward. He served in the United States Air Force as a decorated Aircraft Armorer in the Air Offensive of Japan during World War II. After serving our country Clarence founded the family business, Richardson Mechanical Contractors, with his brother Paul Richardson. He served as a Master Plumber and taught Plumbing school in Roanoke, Va. He was a active member and past Commander of the Salem American Legion Post # 3 and also was a member of Riverland Road Baptist Church. Clarence was a joyful, sociable, humorous, amusing, loving, devoted and kind hearted man who never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time at his property on Smith Mountain Lake with his wife and family, and enjoyed N & W Railroad history. He always enjoyed time with family and friends. In the past year Clarence made his home with Jimmy and Sharon Mundy in southwest Roanoke where he received exceptional care and undivided attention. A special thanks goes out to them and their staff. They cared for and loved Clarence to the end. Also deserving of a special thanks are Clarence's close friends, Lois Atkins, Nancy Hartley and the late Betty Holland. Surviving are his sisters, Evelyn Wygal and Gladys Gibson; brothers, Paul Richardson and wife Eleanor, and Nelson Richardson; sister-in-law, Thelma Creedle, two cousins, six nieces, eight nephews their children and many friends. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. on October 5, 2016.2

Paul was born in Roanoke, on October 18, 1930. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Flippen Richardson. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Angie and Claudia Richardson; two of his sisters, Evelyn Wygal and Louise Hudson; and his brother, Clarence Richardson. Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Tyler Richardson (Donna), Martha Townsley, and Kyle Richardson (Beth); his sister, Gladys Gibson; brother, Nelson Richardson; as well as 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.      Eleanor Flippen Eleanor Flippen Richardson 83, of Salem went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 14, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Martin and Mary Perdue Flippen, a sister, Gloria Jean Cundiff, and a son-in-law, Russell Townsley. Surviving are her loving husband, Paul T. Richardson; children, Paul Tyler Richardson Jr. and wife Donna, Martha R. Townsley, Kyle M. Richardson and wife Beth; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Eleanor admitted daily that Paul was the "Love of her life" for 64 years. Their relationship was grounded in the Lord and their romance was something the children aspired to have in their own lives. Eleanor used her spiritual gifts and talents to serve the community as an R.N. and Assistant Director of Nursing at Community Hospital. As a member of Melrose Baptist Church she served in many ministries including teaching youth through seniors. Eleanor had a light within her that was evident to everyone she met. Her zest for life kept her active and on the move with her family and her friends. Travel was a passion she enjoyed as often as possible. A very special thanks to many friends and God's Angels in the Surgical ICU at Lewis Gale, Melanie, Sara and Jamie. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Melrose Baptist Church. She was a member of the Women's Home Demonstration Club for 25 years and enjoyed making crafts of all kinds in the Club and giving them to family and friends. Emma loved working in her yard and caring for her plants. She often told her children that if she died in her yard digging in the dirt, she would be happy because she felt God's presence all around her. She was also a volunteer with the AARP through her church. Emma was preceded in death by her son, Ernest Hamblin. She is survived by her two sons, Marvin Hamblin of Seaford and Luain Wayne Hamblin of Southern Pines, N.C; her four grandchildren, five great- grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great- grandchild. Interment will be at Peninsula Memorial Park. on July 17, 2008.3

He was a native of Shawsville and a resident of the Peninsula for the past 35 years. He was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church, a retired businessman and a former employe, of Hiden Storage and Forwarding Co. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Emma S.
