Born on July 17, 1927 at Elkridge, he was the son of the late Herbert Earl and Muriel Holt Atha. Mr. Atha was owner of AAA Glass and Awning formerly Oak Hill Glass. He was a stained glass artist and enjoyed camping, fishing, and gardening. Mr. Atha was a Merchant Marine during WWII and the Army Infantry 3rd Division during the Korean War. Also, he was a member of American Legion Post 149, Fayetteville, W.Va. and a lifetime member of DAV in Belleview, Fla. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert E. Atha Jr., Donald E. Atha, and Charlie H. Atha; and sisters, Mona Legg and Mary Elizabeth Stotts. Left to cherish many wonderful memories include his devoted wife, Donzella Atha; four sons and their wives, Robert Lee (Myra) Atha of Ansted, Donald Edward (Jennifer) Atha of Fayetteville, Jeffrey Dean (Natalie) Atha of Oak Hill, and Christopher Blane Atha and Sandy of Oak Hill; one daughter, Victoria (Perry) Dacal of Daniels; grandchildren: Robert Atha III, Tovah Atha, Kendyl Taylor, Zach Atha, Jared Atha, Gabriel Atha, Sam Atha, Matt Atha, J. T. Atha; Devin Atha, Jeffrey Atha II, Kristen Atha, Tabitha Dacal, and Perfecto Dacal; great-grandchildren: Ariel Atha, Miracle Atha, Destiny Atha. Raelyn Taylor, and Zayah Atha; and sister, Linda Rapatas of Lady Lake, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Rev. Jack Eades officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Garden, Beckley. on June 9, 2015.4
