Mr. Haley was born on May 19, 1936, a son of the late Ruben Bennett Haley and the late Fannie Ione Bobbitt Haley. He lived all of his life in Pittsylvania County. He was of the Christian Faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, fishing, gardening, and photography. On March 31, 1956, he married Kaydean Doss Haley, who survives of the residence. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Patsy Newton (Darryl), Kathy Moore (Dennis), Juanita Haley (David), Lisa Haley Chilton, and Judy Emerson (Dwayne); ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Haley; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Jo Ann Haley; two brothers, Guy Haley and Moncie Haley; and a sister, Isla Mae Brumfield. Mrs. Haley was a member of Piney Fork Baptist Church and was a former employee of Hunt Oil and Tire Company. She enjoyed helping other people. She is survived by one daughter, Martha Montgomery and her husband, Mike of Gretna; three brothers, Oscar Schwitzerlett and his wife, Eliza of Beaver, WV, Walter Schwitzerlett and his wife, Nancy of Rosedale, and Richard Schwitzerlett and his wife, Christine of Gretna; two sisters, Dorothy Jacobs and her husband Haywood of Gretna, and Dolly Pettry and her husband, Joey of Rustburg; two brothers-in-law, Bill Frazier, and Charlie Pickeral; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
