He was also a member of the Churchland Masonic Lodge and a member of the Portsmouth Scottish Rite. Raymond was predeceased by his first wife, Dixie Marie Neal; six sisters, Nora, Erma, Beatrice, Irene, May and Lula and a brother, I. G. Neal Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois D. Neal; his son, Raymond E. Neal and wife June of Chesapeake; three daughters, Cheryl Whitmore and husband William of Virginia Beach, Terri Sanderlin and husband Ben of Windsor, and Peggy Santa and husband Jack of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren, Raymond J. Neal II and wife Margaret of Greenfield, Mass., Christy Mason and husband Brian of Chesapeake, Scott BrisBois of Virginia Beach, Courtney Roberts and Karen Roberts both of Richmond, Melissa Murphy of Virginia Beach, and Elizabeth Adams of Chesapeake; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Mason, Trevor Mason, and Samantha Murphy; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
