A 1948 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, Bob enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve that year, and spent 31 years in both US Marine Corps and US Marine Corps Reserve, retiring in 1983 with the rank of Colonel. After earning a BA in animal science from Purdue University in 1952, Bob earned an MBA from Indiana University and completed the Senior Executive Program at Columbia University. He became a driving force behind Elanco Products Company, a division of Eli Lilly Company, when he joined as a sales representative in 1955. After retiring in 1983 as Group Vice President of Agricultural Marketing, Bob became the first president of The Indiana Institute of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition, Inc, serving until 1992. Bob and Dr. Bud Harmon established the Purdue University Book Harmon Leadership Program in Animal Sciences in 2005. Board memberships included: the Marine Corps League, the Indiana Military Coalition, Military Officers of America Association, the Farm Foundation, Neogen Corporation, Ag Alumni Seed, U.S. Feed Grains Council, National FFA and the Life Raft Group. For 29 years he was both an elected representative on the Clay Township Board in Hamilton County, Indiana, and President of Clay Township Regional Waste District. He was Precinct Committeeman for Clay Center 2, for over 30 years and served St. Vincent's Carmel Hospital from ground breaking until he was named Chairman of the Board, that board membership continuing until June 2012. Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeanne Book; their children, Mary M. Klunder (Robert), Nancy Joanne Fletcher, William H. Book (Dede), and Bart J. Book (Sherri). Julian School #57 and graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School. Marty entertained a multitude of childhood friends, and she was often the ring leader in orchestrating mischief...such as blowing a crater in School #57's playground upon igniting gunpowder. Marty went on to attend Butler University. She participated in Butler's gymnastic team and was a majorette for their marching band. She was active in her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, and again, maintained her leadership role in encouraging her friends "to always have fun". Following her course at Butler, Marty worked for C.W. Vize, an Irvington dentist/oral surgeon. A story frequently relayed during this stint of employment, told of her speeding up Arlington Avenue, late to work...a common occurrence...and running over the police motorcycle upon being pulled over. Marty met her husband, Elwood, on a blind date, and they were married in 1959. Poor Elwood never knew what to expect. Marty went on to embrace motherhood and was actively involved in the lives of her three daughters. She held a position of office, often President, of the PTA at School #57, Our Lady of Lourdes, Thomas Carr Howe High School, and Scecina Memorial High School. Marty was a founding member of the Irvington Community Council, as well as a variety of Irvington Clubs and organizations. She was actively involved in the Irvington Presbyterian Church and later, served as a Deacon. Marty was passionate when issues arose, and was often set to task, an example being the crusade of Irvington matrons that she led into an establishment of ill repute that had set up business across from one of the local schools in an attempt to close it down. As the story was told, a bit of a ruckus ensued, and ultimately they were successful in their endeavor. Marty was prone to unconventionality and often provided distraction with her "Martyisms". She was a frequent contributor to the IndyStar's "Let it Out" column, and for those who knew her well, her commentary was easily identifiable. Additionally, she had a tendency to label others with nicknames, especially those that created adversity in her life. Despite being actively involved in nearly every Irvington organization, Marty possessed a love for teaching children. She fulfilled this role as a substitute teacher for Schools #57, #77, #85, and Our Lady of Lourdes. Marty also went on to establish an in home child care business where she cared for a countless number of children throughout the years. There are a many stories that come to mind that capture the facets of Marty's personality and zest for life. Most of which have been discussed at her kitchen table, the table that has entertained and fed many, both young and old across the decades. Marty embraced the laughter and affection of children, adults, and animals. She would always feed a stray, perform cartwheels across the lawn, well into her 70's, and help a friend in need. Marty's presence here on earth will be greatly missed, however, a part of her will continue to live on in the many lives that she has touched throughout the years. Marty is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Vicki Powell-Tippit (Tim Motsinger), Karen Gerald (Danny), and Kristin Loesch (Mark), seven grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces Cheryl Blankenship and Michelle Jacobs, as well as her nephews Steven Blankenship, and Scott Jacobs. And last but not least, her beloved feline and steadfast companion, Dodi. on May 14, 2017.¹

Connie married Morris Butler Book, a graduate of Rollins College, and together, they were very influential in the religious and educational environment of greater Orlando. They began the Tabernacle Christian Church in October of 1944 which is presently First Christian Church of Orlando on Kaley Avenue of which she was an active member until she passed away. In 1968, Connie Book started the Pine Hills Christian Kindergarten at Pine Hills Christian Church. In 1974, she and her daughter, Julie, began the Young Patriots Christian Kindergarten. Together they taught the values of the Bible and love of country for 30 years. In 1972 Connie Book was the first to ever receive the Freedom Foundations Gold Medal award. She will be remembered as a woman of tremendous class and poise. She was a woman who loved the Lord and served Him every day of her life. She is survived by her four children daughters, Joanie (David) Grimm and Julie Book; sons, James (Ann) Book, and John (Sue) Book; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Butler Book, parents and four siblings. on July 2, 2010.³

     Pearis Edward "Edd" White was buried at Pennington Cemetery, on the left in a field beside a barn near Sun Valley School, Speedway, Mercer Co., West Virginia.⁵ He was born on April 1, 1885 at Mercer Co., West Virginia; His WWI Draft Registration card has a birth date of Mar 3, 1885.^1,3,4 He married Maude Mae Conner, daughter of Hayden C. "Hade" Conner and Virginia Arrista "Rissie" Clemmons, on May 27, 1907 at Mercer Co., West Virginia.³ Pearis Edward "Edd" White died on May 8, 1922 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 37; Died in an automobile accident.²

     Her Social Security Number was 234-60-1746.⁶ Helen Etroit White was born on August 15, 1908 at West Virginia.^6,7 As of January 31, 1927,her married name was Whitt.⁸ She married Charlie Estle Whitt on January 31, 1927 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.⁸ Helen Etroit White died on December 31, 1997 at Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio, at age 89.^6,7

     Jessie James White was buried at Wiley Cemetery, Pettry, Mercer Co., West Virginia.⁵ His Social Security Number was 233-18-2498.⁹ He was born on January 12, 1912 at Mercer Co., West Virginia.^4,5,9 He married Naomi Caldwell on December 12, 1931 at Elgood, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^3,6,10 Jessie James White died on November 27, 1970 at Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 58.^3,5

     Frank Edison Dunn was buried at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Courthouse Road, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia; His obituary says he will be buried in Bowling Cemetery.^3,4 He was born on November 13, 1894 at West Virginia; His death record and obituary have a birth date of Nov 13, 1893.^2,3,4 He married Maude Mae Conner, daughter of Hayden C. "Hade" Conner and Virginia Arrista "Rissie" Clemmons, on March 1, 1925 at Pettry, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^5,6 Frank Edison Dunn died on June 1, 1960 at Pettry, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 65.^3,4 He Frank E. Dunn, 66, of Pettrey died of a self inflicted gunshot wound shortly before noon Wednesday. His wife said she went a short distance from the house and left him sitting on the porch. Upon returning, she found him dead in their yard with a 16-gauge shotgun wound near his heart. He had been in ill health for some time. Born Nov. 13, 1893, he was a son of the late John and Mary Dunn. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Pamela Anderson of Oceana; a stepson, Jessie White of Lerona; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Helen Whitt of Pettrey; four sisers, Mrs. James Martin of Lashmeet, Mrs. Duard Shorter of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Joe Thompson of Princeton, and Mrs. Matson Jewell of Mansfield, Ohio; and a granddaughter. Burial will be in the Bowling Cemetery at Pettrey. on June 2, 1960.⁷

     Pamela Lake Virginia Dunn was buried at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 West Hundred Road, Chester, Chesterfield Co., Virginia.^4,5 Her Social Security Number was 234-40-8515.⁷ She was born on August 28, 1925 at West Virginia.^1,5,7 As of August 16, 1946,her married name was Anderson.³ She married Pierce J. Anderson on August 16, 1946 at Giles Co., Virginia.^3,4,5,8 Pamela Lake Virginia Dunn died on June 15, 2010 at Richmond, Virginia, at age 84.^4,5,7 She Lake V. Anderson, 84, of Chesterfield County, formerly a longtime resident of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Chippenham Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Maude Conner Dunn, the widow of Pierce J. Anderson, and was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Whitt, and a brother, Jessie White. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Beverly A. Burrows and husband, Dennis A. of Chesterfield; a grandson, Erik Burrows of Jacksonville, Fla; three nieces and three nephews residing in West Virginia and Ohio. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. on June 16, 2010.⁴

     Delmus Pauley Dunn was buried at Bowling Cemetery, Mercer Co., West Virginia.¹ He was born on May 20, 1927 at West Virginia.¹ He died on July 15, 1932 at East River, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 5.¹

     Anna Lee "Annie" Kessinger was buried at Meadow Branch Cemetery, 818 Old Taneytown Road, Westminster, Carroll Co., Maryland.⁴ Her Social Security Number was 234-42-7819.⁵ She was born on December 28, 1905 at Mercer Co., West Virginia.^5,3 As of circa 1921,her married name was Conner.⁶ She married Carl Fred Conner, son of Hayden C. "Hade" Conner and Virginia Arrista "Rissie" Clemmons, circa 1921.^6,1,2 Anna Lee "Annie" Kessinger died on May 14, 1989 at Maryland at age 83.⁵
