Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Chuck served in the United States Navy prior to receiving his degree in Criminology from the University of Missouri. He served 10 and a half years with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department then went on to found the Kansas City Missouri Police Officers' Association, where he also served as President. Chuck moved to Florida in 1986, where he retired as a Probation Officer. After retirement, he moved to Brasil where he lived with his wife and young son. At the time of his death, Chuck was returning to Greensboro to celebrate his 70th birthday and Thanksgiving with family. He is survived by his wife, Adriana; and young son, Kevin Sean, of the home; daughters, Patti Thornton and husband, Eric, Karen McCray, Sharon Godbee and husband, Rick, Vicki McReynolds; sons, Mark McCray and wife, Marisa, Scott McCray and wife, Kari, Charles Russel McCray, II and wife, Amy. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald McCray; sisters, Jean McCray Nemitz, Donna Harre and Barbara Widener. on November 21, 2007.³

She is survived by her mother, Virginia (Ginny) Sands of Greensboro, NC (formerly of Martinsville, VA), daughters Jessica Pegram (husband, Bobby) of Randleman, NC and Megan Eanes of Martinsville, VA, four sisters: Patti Thornton (husband, Eric) of Oak Island, NC, Karen McCray, Sharon Godbee (husband, Rick), Cindy Morris (husband, Phillip) of Greensboro, NC, 4 brothers: Mark Curry (wife, Marissa) of Woodward, OK, Scott Curry (wife, Kari) of Mooreland, OK, Charles (Chyaz) McCray (wife, Amy) of Kernersville, NC and Kevin Sean McCray of Florianopolis, Brazil, two grand-daughters, Katie and Ashlyn Pegram, of the home, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Russell McCray of Florianopolis, Brazil. on August 17, 2011.¹
