Born Jan. 25, 1989 in Newark, Del., she was the daughter of Walter T. Epperly and Nancy K. (Hall) Epperly. Melanie was a 2007 graduate of the Career Center of Technical Education. She was aspiring to become a writer, in which she enjoyed spending her time composing poems. She was always "joy"ful, singing with a beautiful smile. She was a loving daughter, sister and friend who always put others first. In addition to her parents, surviving are her grandparents, Calvin and Delores Epperly, Marty Hall, and Pamela Hall; four sisters, Madison, Stephanie, Macy, Kailei, all at home; two brothers, Christopher and Cameron, both at home; and her future fiancé, Robbie Hidey. She will be forever missed by all who knew her. on April 3, 2012.²

     Deborah Lee Payne was buried at Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, Virginia.^5,4 She was born on February 23, 1954 at Radford, Virginia.^2,3,6,5 As of June 24, 1978,her married name was Bunn.³ She married Brandon Eugene Bunn on June 24, 1978 at Virginia Beach, Virginia.³ Deborah Lee Payne and Brandon Eugene Bunn were divorced on February 16, 1993 at Virginia Beach, Virginia.⁶ Deborah Lee Payne died on October 16, 2014 at Virginia Beach, Virginia, at age 60.^5,4 She Deborah Payne Bunn, 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, October 16, 2014. Born in Radford, VA, she was Women Athlete of the year at ODU in 1976. She was a P. E. Teacher for 30 years with 24 years at Red Mill Elementary School in Virginia Beach and was twice recognized as Red Mill's Teacher of the Year. She was an avid tennis player and competed in state and national tournaments. Deborah loved her family, friends, teaching, music, and dancing. She was a loving mother and fought a very courageous battle. She was preceded in death by her father, James Curtis Payne. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ashlee Bunn; son, Brandon Bunn and his fiancée Kimberly O'Brien; mother, Betty Daniel Payne; brothers, Jay Payne (Desi) and Richard Payne; sister, Carol Ann Holway (Dickie); nieces and nephews, Jordan Holway, Curt (Sally), Alex, Jayme, Faith and Brody Payne; great nieces and nephews, Jaden and Maya; and her best friend, Susan Hughes. Interment will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. on October 18, 2014.⁴
