"Wayne" Wood, 82, a lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away peacefully at 6:55 pm Friday, July 20, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center with his family by his side. Wayne was born Oct. 7, 1935 the son of Harold M. "Merlon" and Daisy Lee (Massey) Wood. He married Rita Hogarth in 1953 and she preceded him in death in 1994. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Walter and Dale and a sister, Bonnie J. Lohr. Wayne was the owner and operator of Wayne Wood Heating and Cooling and later became a stationary engineer for the State of Illinois working at the Governor's Mansion in Springfield, retiring after 10 years of service. Surviving are his children: Cindy Hopkins, of Springfield, Steve (companion Venetia Schnapp) Wood of Chatham, Diana (companion Frank McGowan) Mohr of Springfield, Mike (wife Shelly) Wood of Loami, Shelly Bayha of Battle Creek, MI, Darrin (wife Tonya) Wood of New Berlin, and Curt Wood of Chatham. There are 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory. Graveside services will be held in Roselawn Memorial Park. on July 25, 2018.²

     Sara E. Nagle Sara E. Elmore, 63 of Springfield, passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 3, 1959 in Taylorville, the daughter of Joseph and Ercel Sue (Massey) Nagle. She married Frank H. Elmore Jr. on February 13, 2013 in Springfield. Sara was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed sharing Facebook greetings for her friends and family to start and end every day. She had a gift for interior decorating and always loved a trip to Goodwill to find treasures. She will be remembered as a very outgoing, open-minded person and will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband: Frank Elmore Jr. of Springfield; children: Marlena Wadkins (Tiffany) of Taylorville, David Wadkins Jr. (Rachel) of Taylorville, Monica Harris (Orville) of Edinburg, and Jacob Wadkins (Krystal) of Decatur; and grandchildren: Emilee Boyd, Alex Wadkins, Isaiah Bailey, Lyndzee Harris, Autumn Yard, Jaedyn Wadkins, Ayla Wadkins, Jackson Wadkins, Kylee Fulk, Skylar Fulk, Bryant Harris, and Jude Osman. She was preceded in death by her parents.² Her married name was Stanley.¹ She married Jeff Stanley.¹ Sara E. Nagle was born on September 3, 1959 at Taylorville, Christian Co., Illinois.² As of February, 1977,her married name was Wadkins.⁴ She married David Alan Wadkins Sr. in February, 1977 at Christian Co., Illinois.^2,4 As of February 13, 2013,her married name was Elmore.² Sara E.
