After retirement from American General he enjoyed open road adventures with friends and family and took great joy in his involvement with Children's Ministries at North Highland Assembly of God Church where he was better known as "The Crow". Don Ridley was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, a dear friend to many and stranger to none. He is survived and dearly missed by his wife of 39 years, S. Carol Ridley; sons, Scott Ridley of Leland, NC, Eric Carter (Melissa) of Phenix City, AL and Jason Ridley (DeAnna) of Mt. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael L. Hines, Jr., grandson, Ethan Hines and sister, Sue. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Valerie and son, Daniel Hines and wife Sarah; grandchildren, Logan, Madison and Lily; sister, Becky Hines Vaughn; his beloved Aunt Mary and Aunt Ruth; numerous nieces and nephews.⁵ He was born on September 30, 1952 at Danville, Virginia.^3,4,5 He married Valerie Ann Pruett, daughter of Hugh Thomas Pruett Sr. and Shirley Ann Boothe, on February 18, 1984 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2,3 Michael Lee "Mike" Hines Sr. died on August 13, 2023 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 70.⁵

He was preceded in death by his son, Ethan Michael Hines; and his paternal grandparents, Lois and Harold Hines. Michael is survived by his daughter, Maddie Leigh Hines; parents, Michael Lee Hines Sr. and Valerie A. Hines; a brother, Daniel Hines and wife, Sarah; his life partner, Ashley Womack; maternal grandparents, Hugh and Shirley Pruett; and a special aunt, Mary Rash. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.⁴ He married Ashley Nicole Womack.⁵ Michael Lee Hines Jr. was born on May 19, 1984 at Roanoke, Virginia.³ He died on August 16, 2019 at Virginia at age 35.⁴

She was preceded in death by her father, James Thurman; multiple uncles; and her beloved English bulldog, Tito. Jennie is survived by her husband of six years, Ricky Key; daughter, Amber Pruett (Trevor); stepdaughter, Melissa Buford; grandchildren, Hadley and Tucker Faw, and LaMarcus Buford; mother, Mary B. Thurman; and sisters, Patricia Lewis, and Susan Witt (Wendell). She was born in Roanoke on June 7, 1966. Jennie graduated from William Fleming High School and worked in production for more than 20 years at Magnets USA. She loved working puzzles and spending time with her grandkids.
