Her most treasured survivors are her two sons, Andrew and Lucas Hatt. Also surviving are two benevolent brothers, Jay Bolling and his wife, Dot, Reid Bolling and his wife, Rene; one niece, Laura Bolling and her fianc, Ed Digilio; three nephews, Cole Bolling, Deek Bolling and Darren Bolling and his wife, Kristin Bolling. Also surviving is her ex-husband, Fritz Hatt. She would like to express a special thank you to Vicki and Don Lee and to Karin Mowl for making the journey with her. Sandy graduated from Jefferson High School and as Valedictorian from Radford College. Sandy touched the lives of all the people she met-her love of life, her generous gift of love which she imparted to all, and her love of laughter which she so willingly shared. Everywhere she lived, she made countless enduring friendships. She was a very giving person and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was also a member of Hidden Valley Country Club and was an avid golfer. She would not want tears today, but instead, laughter and love. Much gratitude is extended to the Boone & Co. Realtor family and everyone who contributed cards, phone calls, and prayers throughout this difficult time. She would also like to thank Dr. Fintel and his staff for prolonging her life beyond all expectations. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on June 5, 2002.⁶

A native of Danville, she was born April 29, 1929, a daughter of Raleigh and Hattie Fox Bolling of Danville Rt. 5. She was a member of Burton Memorial Presbyterian Church. Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Wilson E. Pendleton of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Kathy Kendrick of Danville Rt. 5 and Miss Vicky Lynn Pendleton of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Clapp and Mrs. Jean Astin, both of Danville; and two brothers, Edwin and Ernest Bolling of Roanoke. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. on September 10, 1973.³

     Glenn Heyman Matherly was buried at Highland Burial Park, Danville, Virginia.³ His Social Security Number was 228-15-9490.⁴ He was born on March 18, 1963 at Danville, Virginia.^1,2,4,3 He married Vicky Lynn Pendleton, daughter of Wilson Eli Pendleton and Elna Arlene Bolling, on August 4, 1984 at Danville, Virginia.^1,3 Glenn Heyman Matherly died on November 7, 2009 at Durham, Durham Co., North Carolina, at age 46.^4,3 He Glenn Heyman Matherly, 46, of 220 Cedar Crest Lane, Danville, died Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Duke University Hospital in Durham.
He was born in Danville on March 18, 1963, and was the son of the late George Matherly and Barbara Powell Matherly Jones of Danville. Glenn was married for 25 years to Vicky Pendleton Matherly, who survives of the home. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and worked at Shorewood Packaging Corporation, where he was a master electrician.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his step-father, Malcolm Jones of Danville; two daughters, Mandy Matherly and Crystal Matherly, both of the home; and one sister, Amy Pretty and her husband David of Clinton, N.C. A graveside service will be held at Highland Burial Park. on November 9, 2009.³

     Kathy Darlene Pendleton Kathy Pendleton Davis, 62 of 3600 Oxford Road, died Monday, October 27, 2014, at Person Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Pittsylvania County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Elna Bolling Pendleton of Danville, Va. Mrs. Davis was a Paralegal and of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are her husband, Ronnie Davis of Rougemont; her daughter, Kristin Davis and Charles of Asheville; her son, Austin Davis and Faye of Timberlake; her sister, Vicky Matherly of Danville, Va.⁵ Her married name was Davis.⁵ She married Ronnie Davis.⁵ Kathy Darlene Pendleton was born on June 22, 1952 at Danville, Virginia.^3,4 As of October 2, 1971,her married name was Kendrick.⁴ She married Glen Garnett Kendrick on October 2, 1971 at Danville, Virginia.⁴ Kathy Darlene Pendleton died on October 27, 2014 at Roxboro, Person Co., North Carolina, at age 62.⁵

     Hazel Dean Johnson Hazel Dean Johnson Thompson, 97, of 340 Hampton Dr., died on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at her daughter's residence, 232 Franklin Pl., where she had been living since Decemeber due to her decline in health. Hazel was born in Pittsylvania County, Va. on January 25, 1923, daughter of the late William Daniel Johnson and Susie Adkins Johnson. She spent all of her life in the Danville area where she was a homemaker. She was a member of Mercy Seat Presbyterian Church. Hazel was always meticulous about her yard and all of Hampton Dr. to be frank. She always kept busy sweeping and raking leaves. She enjoyed life, her family and especially her grandchildren. On July 10, 1942, she married Sterling "Jack" Thompson who died on June 9, 1964. Survivors include daughters, Janet Tiede (Tom) and Cathy Salmon (Steve); son, Larry Thompson; grandchildren, Charles McLoud (Linda), Ted McLoud (Diana), Ben Thompson (Brandi), Kim Pyron (Scott), Brian Salmon (Katie) and Ashley Moan (Jason). A graveside service will be conducted in Highland Burial Park. The family would like to thank Commonwealth Hospice and nurses, Jennifer Allen and Manekia Morris for all the love and care given to Hazel during this difficult time.      Glen Garnett Kendrick Mr. Glen G. Kendrick, age 62, of 30 Southern Street, Danville, VA, died on September 18, 2016, at Danville Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 30, 1953, in Danville, VA, to the late John Kermit Kendrick and Janice Carolyn Oakes Kendrick. Mr. Kendrick worked as a Supervisor at Dan River Mills, Inc. for many years before his retirement, and he was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family, friends, and animals, but most of all he loved his grandson, Bruce who was the light of his life, which keep him fighting for his life during 24 years of dialysis. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Willhite Kendrick of the residence; daughters, Joy Kendrick and Danielle Kendrick; grandson, Bruce Kendrick all of Danville, VA; brother, Michael Donald Kendrick and wife Fay of Dry Fork, VA; sisters, Glenda K. Bowers and husband Will of Reidsville, NC and Cynthia K. Brock of Chatham, VA.      Amanda Dawn "Mandy" Matherly Amanda "Mandy" Dawn Matherly, 33, entered into her heavenly home on April 4, 2022. She was born on July 6, 1988 in Danville, VA to Vicky Pendleton Matherly and the late Glenn Heyman Matherly. Amanda received an International Baccalaureate Degree from Galileo High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology from James Madison University. She received her Masters Degree in Nanoscience/Nanotechnology from UNC-Greensboro. Amanda was a member of Christ The King Luthern Church. Her greatest accomplishments have been her dedication to community service in the area. She organized the Lego Build-off for Muscular Dystrophy Association, and was a counselor for MDA Summer camp at Smith Mountain Lake. She was very active in Habitat for Humanity, the Danville Historical Society, and was a United Way Volunteer. Amanda was a very caring person who never met a stranger. She loved the beach and traveling the world. In addition to her mother, Amanda is survived by her sister; Crystal Renee Matherly of Danville, VA., grandmother; Barbara Powell Jones, aunt; Amy Pretty, her service dog; Ella. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her grandfather; Malcolm W. Jones and a special dog; Little Bit.⁵ She was born on July 6, 1988 at Danville, Virginia.^2,5 As of July 24, 2011,her married name was Stowe.³ She married Jonathan Tyler Stowe on July 24, 2011 at Danville, Virginia.³ Amanda Dawn "Mandy" Matherly and Jonathan Tyler Stowe were divorced on September 19, 2013 at Pittsylvania Co., Virginia.⁴ Amanda Dawn "Mandy" Matherly died on April 4, 2022 at Virginia at age 33.⁵

     John Wilton Pendleton Jr. was buried at Mountain View Memorial Park (also known as Mountain View Burial Park), 5970 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, Franklin Co., Virginia.¹ He John Wilton Pendleton, Jun 29, 1957 - Aug 12, 2016. John Wilton Pendleton, age 59 of Boones Mill, entered into eternal rest August 12, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father John “Biggon” Pendleton. He leaves behind his loving mother Hazel Pendleton; his children Johnny (Sandy) and Amy; grandchildren Cheyenne, Savannah; his fur grandbabies Limo, Ginger and Tinkerbelle; his “Sugg” Sheila Motley and her children Brandon (Alice), Treva and grandchildren Hallie, Eli and Cole; four sisters and one brother; three nephews, three nieces and one great niece; best friend Lynnie Moran and numerous other close friends. John worked as a mechanic for over 40 years and was known to be able to fix almost anything. His mischievous grin and impeccable sense of humor always made everyone laugh and smile. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Arthur Lee Gibson; son, Jesse Lee Gibson; mother, Hazel Sink Pendleton; sisters, Deborah Webb (Ronnie), Leigh Riddle (Rick) and Glenda Pendleton; brother, David Pendleton (Linda) and her fur baby, Todd.
