In addition to her parents, Gen was also preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Patrick Thomas and A. Victor Thomas Jr; her husband, Keith A. Johnson; and her niece, Erica Rae Thomas. Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Andrew Johnson; her brother, Eric Thomas and his wife, Robin; nephew, Bradley Thomas and his wife, Ashley; great-nephew, Greyson Thomas; great-niece, Lowe Thomas; cousin, Michele C. Thomas; and beloved cat, Thunder. She had a way of brightening people's days just by being herself - always ready with a smile, a kind word, or a listening ear. No matter where life took her, she made real, lasting friendships that stood the test of time. She was very special to many and will always hold a place in our hearts. He led the rebuilding efforts for reconstructing the family store on Tinker's Creek after the flood of '85. You could count on Little Vic to be there for you anytime with all his strength, wisdom, and heart. Vic felt a lifelong kinship to the ocean and beaches of South Carolina. A familiar and frequent figure at Smith Mountain Lake, Vic Jr. was also known for his rich laughter and enjoyment of social gatherings and fine cooking skills. Before karaoke was a popular pastime, Vic Jr. sang with easy confidence for others at parties. There was never anything average about Vic, he was not your average bear. Vic always blazed his own path, never a follower. He was a "Shining Star" right here on earth. As Vic Jr. has made his most perfect and important flight to be with his Lord and Savior, he will be greatly missed in his many roles in life. A loving eldest son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and steadfast, faithful friend to many, Vic Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Victor "Vic" Thomas on April 26, 2006. Also preceding Vic Jr. in death were his niece, Erica Rae Thomas; nephews, Cole and Samuel Thomas; brother-in-law, Keith Johnson; grandparents, Genevieve Nero and Ellis James Thomas, and William and Mae Lucas; uncles Gerald Lucas, Buddy Thomas, and Ronnie Thomas. Vic Jr. is survived by his beloved mother and best friend, Dorothy "Dot" Thomas. Like his father before him, Vic Jr. lived life and had a fierce love for the Lord. A private service for the family will be held at St. Andrew's Church. on May 20, 2006.3

Johnson; and niece, Erica Rae Thomas. Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, son, William B. "Will" Thomas; and daughter, Elizabeth Grace "Lilly" Thomas (his children were his life); his brother, Eric Thomas and wife, Robin (who was more of a sister than a sister-in-law); his sister, Genevieve "Gen" Thomas Johnson; nephews, Bradley Thomas and his wife, Ashley, and Andrew L. Johnson; great-nephew, Greyson Thomas; and very special cousin, Michele C. Thomas. There are so many special things about Tom beginning with his faith. He was a devout Catholic and a life-time member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Like his father before him, Tom believed God first, then family and then hard work. He loved his music, the ocean, flea markets and his buddy, his dog, George. Tom was very giving and always ready to help if you were in need. He was there for his family and friends and even for complete strangers, Tom was magnanimous. He was very supportive of his family and when illness struck his inner circle, Tom would be there for encouragement. He was very special indeed and will hold a place in our hearts forever.
