Fay grew up in the mountains of Virginia. She was the youngest of five children and told many happy stories about her childhood and her family. She met her husband on a blind date. They saw each other every day after that first date until they married six months later. Fay continued to work as a secretary for several years after marrying but eventually stayed home to raise her children. She always made everyone welcome in her home and neighborhood kids, cousins and other friends always knew there would be kool aid, snacks and plenty of fun at the Thompson house. When Don and Fay's children were raised they retired to Charlotte, NC where they enjoyed gardening and relaxing. They traveled to Europe three times and vacationed in Mexico twice. They went to Las Vegas and enjoyed the beach on vacations. Fay loved to read, loved gardening but mostly, she loved people. She was active in the PTA, the Arts Council and always had many friends. She was a kind, generous person who will be greatly missed but who also be remembered for influencing many lives with her caring ways.³ She was born on March 10, 1933 at Wise Co., Virginia.^2,4 As of circa 1963,her married name was Thompson.³ She married Donald Lee Thompson, son of Carl Edward Thompson and Elner M.      Paul Jay Thompson Jr. was buried at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Courthouse Road, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.¹ He Paul Jay Thompson, Jr., 66, of Princeton died Monday, April 10, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born April 7, 1951 in Princeton he was the son of the late Paul Jay Thompson, Sr. and Veda Ruth Pettrey Thompson. Paul was a truck driver for Sealtight Corporation for several years and had been a lifelong resident of Princeton. He was a member of the Princeton Apostolic Church in Princeton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jackie Ray Pettrey. Survivors include his wife of forty eight years, Rita Juliette Robinette Thompson of Princeton; one daughter, Tuwana Wirtz and husband Barry of Princeton; two sons, Kelly Eugene Thompson and Jason Daniel Thompson both of Princeton; one grandson, Trent Jared Thompson Sizemore; one sister, Carol Bailey and husband Roger of Princeton; two brothers, Michael Wayne Thompson and wife Debra of Monroe, NC and Jerry Lee Thompson of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.      Roger Lee Bailey Sr. Roger Lee Bailey Sr., 77, of Princeton, died Thursday, May 27, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side. Born January 24, 1944, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Mason Bailey and the late Leona Coburn Bailey. Roger worked for Pruitt’s, Gregan’s and Appalachian Log. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Norma and Deloris. Born July 20, 1967, at Princeton, she was the daughter of Carol Jean Thompson Bailey and the late Roger Lee Bailey. She was a homemaker and a loving mother, daughter and sister.
