Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member of Central Baptist Church and was employed as a driver for Home IV Care. She also delivered the Richmond Times–Dispatch. Survivors include her husband, Ralph E. Fitzgerald; a daughter, Gina Nazelrod of Waynesboro; a son, Justin Fitzgerald of the home; two stepchildren, Ralph E. Fitzgerald Jr. of Stuarts Draft and Tonya Michelle Fitzgerald of Waynesboro; her mother, Virginia Brooks Robinson of Ladd; a sister, Carolyn Wimer of Waynesboro; a brother, Robbie Robinson of Waynesboro; and one stepgrandson. He was 64. Mr. Saaranzin was a native of El Centro. He was a graduate of Cal Poly, Pomona, and was a member of the school's Athletic Hall of Fame. He lived in Gustine for 38 years. He was a farmer and a pest control applicator. Mr. Saaranzin served as a member of the Quinto Water District Board of Directors. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1955-57. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Saaranzin of Gustine; two daughters, Lynn Zeuthen of Ohio and Rebecca Fontes of Washington; three sisters, Susie Scott of Visalia, and Arina Voorting and Mary Bingelli, both of San Diego; his mother, Mina Voorting of San Diego; and two grandchildren. Burial will follow in Hills Ferry Cemetery. on January 21, 1999.⁴
