     Harold Charles "Hal" Hodson Jr. Harold Charles Hodson Jr. (Hal) passed away peacefully at his home in Granville Ohio, September 14, 2023, with his family by his side. Hal was born August 24th 1928, in Columbus Ohio and was raised in LaRue, Ohio. He graduated from high school in 1946 and Ohio Northern University in 1949, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and a life member of the Lehr Society. He attended The Ohio State University, and was a member of the President’s Club. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He spent 40 years in the insurance industry and founded Benefit Plans Inc. in 1965 which pioneered health insurance for small employers. Hal was a farmer, businessman, boater, traveler, and avid sports fan. He lived many lives and remained active well into his 90’s. Hal cared deeply about his family and one of his fondest memories was hosting “Camp Hodson” at his farm Green Tree Farms in Lancaster, Ohio during the summers for his grandchildren. He left a memorable impression on everyone he encountered. There was never a dull moment with him, he was always on the go, and had an insatiable thirst for adventure. Hal is survived by 4 children; daughters, Morgan and Marcia; sons, Peter and Philip, in addition to his children he is survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Home Instead and their extraordinary caregivers for the care they provided Hal for the past 4 months.      Janet Lee Vass and Benny Roger McVey were divorced.¹ Janet Lee Vass was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5250 Robert Centre Byrd Drive, Prosperity, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.³ Her Social Security Number was 233-76-0919.² She was born on October 30, 1945 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.^2,3 As of September 27, 1963,her married name was McVey.¹ She married Benny Roger McVey, son of Remus Haskel McVey and Vicie Ola Bowman, on September 27, 1963 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.¹ Janet Lee Vass died on December 18, 2001 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 56.^2,4,3 She Janet Lee Vass Rakes, 56 of MacArthur, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Dec. 18, at a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born Oct. 30, 1945 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Ellsworth M. and Frances Lee Bolt Vass. Mrs. Rakes was a waitress and a member of Grace Primitive Baptist Church, Shady Spring. She was formerly employed by Beckley Hotel and was a life-long resident of Raleigh County. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ellsworth M. Vass, Jr; a grandson, Roger Lee Stables, III; paternal grandparents, Price and Leslie Evelyn Toney Vass; maternal grandparents, Charles Edward and Rebecca Jane Server Bolt; and her first husband, Bobby Lane. Survivors include her husband, Elder Louie C. Rakes, Jr; two sons, Kevin Wayne McVey of Los Angeles, Calif, and Bobby Lee Lane II and wife, Beth of Shady Spring; a daughter, Sherry Yvonne Stables and husband, Roger of Sophia; three stepchildren, Johnny Rakes and wife, Rhonda, of Beckley, Donny Rakes and wife, Shawn, of Johnstown, Penn., and Michael Rakes and wife, Kim , of Beckley; four grandchildren, Brian Lane, Ashley Nicole Lane and Christopher and Brandon Stables; four step-grandchildren, Derrick Rakes, John Michael and Joshua Rakes and Kaytlin Rakes; a sister, Jenny Lee Lyons and husband, Larry, of Maxwell Hill; a niece, Kimberly Lyons of Maxwell Hill; a nephew, Larry Lyons, Jr. of Mount Hope; and a great-niece, Brianna Lyons of Maxwell Hill. Burial will follow in Blue ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Pallbearers will be Larry Lyons, Jr., Tommy Rakes, Donny Rakes, Jeff Bowling, Roger Stables, and Jimmy Lane. on December 20, 2001.³

     Richard Farrell Agee Mr. Richard Farrell Agee, age 74, passed away August 26, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mr. Agee was born February 18, 1947 in Coal City, West Virginia to Jack and Lora Mae Kirk Agee. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife; Donna Moore Agee of the home, two daughters; Lynnette Preston and husband Mike, Anissa Borror and husband Jay, two sons; Richard Agee II and wife Jillian, Russell Scott, two sisters; Margaret Agee, Patty Long and husband William, two brothers; Ronnie Agee and wife Carol, Terry Agee and wife June, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.² He was born on February 18, 1947 at Jonben, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.^1,2 He married Peggy Ruth McVey, daughter of Remus Haskel McVey and Vicie Ola Bowman, on April 12, 1967 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.¹ Richard Farrell Agee died on August 26, 2021 at Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., North Carolina, at age 74.²

     His Social Security Number was 232-82-7422.⁵ Robert Dale Milam was buried at McVey Cemetery, Sullivan, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.^2,4 He was born on November 27, 1950 at Mullens, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.^1,2,5,3,4 He married Loma Lee Whittaker, daughter of Edward Lee Whittaker and Dorla Jean "Doris" Lusk, on May 30, 1980 at Pembroke, Giles Co., Virginia.¹ Robert Dale Milam died on April 11, 2000 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 49.^2,5,4 He Robert D. “Bob” Milam, 49, of Crab Orchard, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, in a Beckley hospital. Born Nov. 27, 1950, in Wyoming County, he was the son of Leona Milam of Crab Orchard and the late Raymond Milam. Mr. Milam was a 49-year resident of Raleigh County. He was a coal miner and attended Tilden Community Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Dale Milam Jr. Other survivors include his wife of 28 years, Loma Milam; a brother, Jack Milam and his wife, Barbara, of Sophia; two sisters, Janice Milam and her husband, Archie, of Crab Orchard and Elizabeth Esch and her husband, Robert, of Glen Arbor, Mich; his mother and father-in-law , Lee and Dorla Whittaker of Coal City; special and dear friends, Mickey and Dianna Cooper of Crab Orchard; and several nieces, nephews and friends. Burial will follow in McVey Family Cemetery, Sullivan. on April 14, 2000.⁴
