Patrasche Ann Carter1,2
F, b. May 3, 1935, d. April 29, 2025
Patrasche Ann Carter was buried at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, 5505 Northfield Road, Bedford Heights, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio.2 She Patrasche Ann (nee Carter) Lusk, age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. She was born on May 3, 1935 in Pemberton, West Virginia to Rev. John Robert and Minnie (nee Elam) Carter and was one of twelve children in a large, loving family. She was a devoted wife for 60 years of the late Alvin "Bud" Lusk, who just passed away himself on January 21st of this year; cherished mother to Dennis Berry (Diane Avery) and Deana Montisano; beloved grandmother of Kurt Berry (Brianna), Danielle McLeod (Michael) and Nicole Moone (Charlie) and great-grandmother of Tessa, Brooklyn, Logan, Finn, Peyton and Kinley. She is also survived by four of her siblings, Ruth Smith (Ted), James Carter (Lorinda), Fred Carter (Brenda), and Danny Ray Carter (Brenda); and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by seven of her siblings, Wanda Carter, Edward Carter (Crystal), John Paul Carter (Joan), Martha Tolliver (Amos), Frances Hatcher (Robert), Norma Riddle and Violet Moats. Patrasche enjoyed many quiet pursuits such as scrapbooking, word puzzles, crossword puzzles and adult coloring books as they became popular. She and Bud were also devoted fans of the daytime show The Young and The Restless, making sure to plan all activities around its' daily airing. While normally more of a "homebody", she did enjoy seeing the country on road trips with her sisters-in-law! However, what mattered most to Patrasche and what she shaped her life around was caring for home and family. She was a deeply devoted wife and mother, and making a comfortable and loving home for them was a source of great joy and pride for her. She made sure dinner was always ready and no meal ended without a home baked dessert. The little signs of her love could be seen in everything from the curtains she chose for the windows to the flowers planted in the yard, her loving touch was everywhere. When her grandchildren and then her great-grandchildren were welcomed into the family, she turned her loving devotion to each one in turn, finding new joy in the additions to her family. While Patrasche was a quiet, rather introverted lady with a touch of stubbornness from time to time, her kindness, and deep love and devotion to her family shown through more than anything else and was truly a model of strength and dignity for her whole family that will be greatly missed by each one of them. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Bedford Heights.2 She was born on May 3, 1935 at Pemberton, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.1,2 As of December 19, 1964,her married name was Lusk.1 She married Alvin Bryan Lusk, son of Curtis Eldridge "Broad" Lusk and Velva Marie "Joy" McVey, on December 19, 1964 at Pemberton, Raleigh Co., West Virginia; Patrasche was divorced from a Mr. Berry at the time of this marriage.1,2 Patrasche Ann Carter died on April 29, 2025 at Ohio at age 89.2
