     Hager Minix Jr. Hager "Junior" Minix Jr., age 68, a resident of Half Mt. Road in Duco, Magoffin Co., Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at his home. Mr. Minix was born September 18, 1945 in Manchester, Michigan the son of the late Hager Minix, Sr. and Cassie Salyers Minix. Also, proceeding in death is son, Terry Allen Longacre; sisters, Ora Grob, Amanda Conley, Joanne Minix, Margery Minix; brothers, JB Minix, Creighton Minix, and Clyde Minix. Mr. Minix was employed as a contracted carpenter until his retirement. They regularly attended Half Mountain United Baptist Church in Half Mt., Magoffin Co., Kentucky. Those left to mourn includes wife, Alice Fay Barker Minix, whom he married July 10, 2000; sons, Forest W. Longacre and wife Kim of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Kevin L. Longacre and wife Diane of Salyersville, Kentucky, Raymond Minix of South Bend, Indiana, Clay Lozier of Plymouth, Indiana; daughters, Jewel F. Carpenter of Bourbon, Indiana, Blanche Noel of Wisconsin; brother, Larry Minix of Knox, Indiana. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends who love and miss him. Interment will follow in the Green Carpenter Cemetery in Royalton, Kentucky.² He was buried at Green Carpenter Cemetery, Royalton, Magoffin Co., Kentucky.^2,3 He was born on September 18, 1945 at Manchester, Washtenaw Co., Michigan.^2,3 He married Patricia Grace "Patsy" Huffer, daughter of Ray Wilbur Huffer and Cleora June Short, on March 21, 1967 at North Judson, Starke Co., Indiana.¹ Hager Minix Jr. died on April 24, 2014 at Duco, Magoffin Co., Kentucky, at age 68.^2,3

Mrs. Phillips is also survived by three daughters, Jill M. (Jim) Poulimenos of Valparaiso, IN, Jodi A. Newton of South Bend, IN, Kellie (Bill) True of Niles, MI; two sons, Randy Phillips of Niles, MI, and David Phillips of South Bend, IN; three granddaughters; parents, Richard and Gloria Murphy of South Bend, IN and two sisters, Shelley (John) McCahill of South Bend, IN, and Janet (Dennis) Sager of Three Rivers, MI. Mrs. Phillips was a lifelong area resident, except for ten years that she lived in Valparaiso, IN. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend. on September 28, 2010.³

     Michael Bruce Newton Michael Bruce Newton, 67, currently residing at Woodland Manor Nursing Home in Elkhart, passed away at 6:37 pm Saturday, November 1, 2014 in Elkhart General Hospital. He was born November 13, 1946 in South Bend to the late Leroy and Esther (Fairchild) Newton, and remained a lifelong area resident. Michael worked at Wheelabrator in South Bend prior to his retirement. Michael is survived by daughters, Jodi Newton of South Bend, IN and Jill (Jim) Poulimenos of West Chapel, FL; granddaughters, Alexandria and Chloe; and one brother, Jonathon Newton of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his other brother, Jack Newton.³ He was born on November 13, 1946 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^1,2,3 He married Diana May Murphy, daughter of Richard Murphy and Gloria Joyce Kaser, on April 10, 1971 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.¹ Michael Bruce Newton died on November 1, 2014 at Elkhart, Elkhart Co., Indiana, at age 67.^2,3
