Latisha Renee Jones was buried at Baden Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Leon, Mason Co., West Virginia.2,3,4 She was born on October 23, 1972 at Mason Co., West Virginia.2,3 She died on July 19, 1973 at Point Pleasant, Mason Co., West Virginia.2,3 She An 8-month-old girl died Thursday of strangulation after swallowing a plastic bead from a bracelet, said Dr. John ME Grubb, Mason County coroner. Latisha Renee Jones was the daughter of Herman Andrew and Jeanie Bennett Jones of Leon Rt. 2. Deputy Jim Craddock said the child had been playing with the bracelet but he did not know if she was in a crib or on the floor. The child's father was babysitting while the mother was on a trip to Point Pleasant, Craddock said. He said he was patroling the area when he was flagged by a woman neighbor the father had called about 1:15 p.m. for assistance. The deputy said when he arrived at the home the father was sitting in a chair crying and holding the baby. Craddock said he was told the child had "started fussing" and was given some milk and a cracker. Quieted, she was placed in her bed. "When her dad went to check on her a few minutes later she had turned blue," the deputy said. The child was taken to Pleasant Valley Hospital at Point Pleasant by sheriff's deputies and was dead on arrival. Other survivors, in addition to the parents, are a half sister, Bobbi Anne Bonecutter, and a half brother, John Bonecutter, at bome. Service will be held at Leon Bayden Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. on July 20, 1973.4

Carolyn Sue "Carol" Wheeling was buried at Dublin Cemetery, off Rt. 11, Pulaski Co., Virginia.1,2 She Carol Sue Wheeling Smith, May 9, 1947 - Feb 29, 2024. Carol Wheeling Smith, 76, of Christiansburg, Va., had a happy and peaceful death at home February 28, 2024. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Michael Lowman, her parents, William Howard Wheeling and Sadie Vest, husband, Robert "Bob" Smith, and sister, Patricia Bryant. Her survivors include son, John Lowman (Beth), granddaughter, Elizabeth, stepson, Brian Canode (Ginger), and stepsister, Carol Trigg (Bud). In her final days, she was also with other special family and friends, including her niece, Brittany, friends and neighbors, Amy and Granville, Julie, Linda, Dean, and Connie, stepdaughters, Kim and Julie, and the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice and Cindys Compassion Care. Carol spent her early adulthood as a devoted wife and mother; later, she worked and retired from Kollmorgen Inland Motor, remarried, became a "social butterfly," active in the Moose Lodge, VFW, card and Bible study groups, and volunteer at her local hospital. She was a long-time member of Dublin United Methodist Church and later Riverview Baptist Church. Those close to her will remember her contagious smile, sparkle in her eyes, deep faith, hope in eternal life, and love of God, family, and friends. Interment will follow in the Old Dublin Cemetery in Dublin.2 She was born on May 9, 1947 at Tennessee.1,2 As of June 11, 1966,her married name was Lowman.3 She married John David Lowman Sr., son of David Amon Lowman and Dorothy Virginia Spence, on June 11, 1966 at Sparta, Alleghany Co., North Carolina.3 Carolyn Sue "Carol" Wheeling and John David Lowman Sr. were divorced on March 2, 1976 at Pulaski Co., Virginia.3 Carolyn Sue "Carol" Wheeling died on February 29, 2024 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 76.1,2
