Lussier of 515 Bellevue avenue, Pomona, passed away at 1:20 o'clock Friday afternoon after a long period of falling health, although seriously ill for only a short time, Mr. Lussier was born July 31, 1876, in Woonsocket, R. I., and came to California in 1898, from Minnesota. He has lived in this vicinity since coming to California, and was engaged in the grocery business until his retirement some years ago. Mr. Lussier is survived by four sons, Warren Lussier, Los Angeles; Joseph O. Lussier, Jr., Pasadena; Jack Lussier, who is now setving in the U. S. Army; Raymond Lussier, North Hollywood, and a brother, Frank Lussier of Minnesota. Interment will be made in the Pomona cemetery by the side of his wife, who passed away five years ago. on September 4, 1943.4

Mr. Davee was chairman of Surgitek, secretary of Biochem International Inc. and chairman of DS Medical. The companies develop and market medical products, primarily vital-sign monitors. He also was president of the Davee Foundation, which donated to a variety of causes. Those included Amnesty International, Planned Parenthood, the Hubbard Street Dance Company, the Goodman Theatre, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Lyric Opera. He also supported Northwestern University's medical and music programs. He provided financial support for a drug discovery program and research about depression and he funded a chair for the study of Alzheimer's disease. He also funded a chair in Northwestern's Kellogg Graduate School of Management to promote the preparation of women in executive positions. He was a trustee of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. "He was one of the most modest people you could meet, very modest, quiet and unassuming," said his wife, Ruth Dunbar Davee. "He felt he had been very lucky and he wanted to help other people." Mr. Davee was born in Los Angeles and reared in Downstate Galesburg. He attended Knox College in Galesburg and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He is survived by his wife. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 29 in the auditorium at Northwestern Memorial's Passavant Pavilion, 303 E. Superior. on August 17, 1998.3
