Jennifer Gail Carper1,2

Jennifer Gail Carper was buried at Huffman Cemetery, on a small hill near intersection of Rt. 42 and Rt. 622 at Sinking Creek Mountain, Craig Co., Virginia.1 She was born on August 11, 1952 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2 As of August 30, 1972,her married name was Austin.3 She married Frank Wallace Austin Jr., son of Frank Wallace "Pap" Austin Sr. and Addie Ann Craft, on August 30, 1972 at Roanoke, Virginia.3 Jennifer Gail Carper and Frank Wallace Austin Jr. were divorced on January 26, 1979 at Craig Co., Virginia.2 Jennifer Gail Carper died on November 27, 2022 at Virginia at age 70.1 She Jennifer Gail Carper McPherson, 70, of New Castle, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 27, 2022, with her beloved husband, B.B. McPherson, and her family by her side following a courageous 10-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on August 11, 1952, the daughter of the late William R. Carper Jr. and Barbara Ann Caldwell Carper. A lifetime New Castle resident, she was also a proud graduate of the New Castle High School Class of 1970. After her completion at Hollywood School of Beauty, she owned and operated Town and Country Beauty Salon for more than 30 years in the heart of downtown New Castle. She loved interacting daily with each of her customers. On August 22, 1981, she married the love of her life, Billy 'B.B.' McPherson. Later in their marriage, they enjoyed traveling to places such as Alaska, Hawaii and New England. Jennifer was a thoughtful and caring soul, yet fiercely loyal. She loved crafting, making trips to Roanoke and dancing to the music when it hit her just right, but nothing compared to spending time with her family and friends. Her immeasurably big heart allowed her to care for her nieces like they were her own children. She provided infinite care and support to her parents and siblings over the years as well. Her grandson was the light of her life. Jennifer was a member of the New Castle United Methodist Church as well as a past member of the United Methodist Women. Every year at the Christmas Bazaar, her homemade pecan pies sold out quickly! In addition to her husband of 41 years, she is lovingly survived by her stepchildren, Randy McPherson and Donna Jones (Mike), both of New Castle; sister, Betty Stimeling of Salem; brother, Larry Carper of New Castle; grandson, Hunter Jones; nieces, April Messerly, Sally Stimeling, Ginnie Vaughan and Logan Poff; nephew, Chad Carper; great nieces, Carper Messerly, Genevieve Carper and Caroline Poff; great nephews, Jameson and Cale Vaughan, Judd Messerly and Rider Baldino; and many beloved cousins and friends. There are not adequate words to thank Jennifer's childhood and lifelong friend, Trena Boudreaux, for her love and support over the years but in particular her final days. The family thanks Trena and all of Jennifer's caregivers for their enduring kindness and compassion. Interment will follow at Huffman Cemetery. on November 30, 2022.1
