Gene was born September 16, 1955 in Roanoke, Va. to the late Nelson A. Prillaman and Mary Young Prillaman Reynolds. Gene attended Virginia Western Community College, where he studied and graduated with an associates degree. He worked most of his life as a certified auto mechanic in the Roanoke and Richmond areas. He was preceded in death by a sister, Cecelia P. DeLong. He is survived by his wife, Barbara France Prillaman; brothers, Gerald N. Prillaman and wife, Doris of Roanoke, and Charles E. Prillaman and wife, Barbara of Dracut, Mass; two sisters, Sherryl P. Hankins and husband, Bill of Forest, Va., and Elizabeth P. Lewis and husband, Jim of Albemarle, N.C; his mother and father-in-law, Ceylon and Trudy France; sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Kevin Conklin; and sister-in-law, Tammy Lee, all of Wirtz, Va; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held in Richmond. Memorial contributions may be made to Sherbourne United Methodist Church, 2619 Sherbourne Rd., Richmond, Va. 23237.
